Do you think there should be aim assistance in the halo 3 mulitplayer? like there is in Halo 2

I say No becuase it takes most of the skill of aim out of the game.

Seriously, don't take me seriously.

Underground Pleasure - aren't you a bit curious?

Like auto-aim? Um......no.

You face an opponent who has never known defeat, who laughs in foreign tongues at your efforts to survive. This is Reply suicide.

Here's the thing...

Halo 2 needed auto-aim in order to help cover the long distances...
It was also an issue to do with lag and latency.

Want to know what takes REAL skill? Play PDZ and try to get headshots all day long. VERY hard to do with most weapons (though it's somewhat easy with a shotgun).

I actually find PDZ much easier to play and win than Halo 2. And PDZ has next to no auto-aim...

Interesting isn't it?

You need auto-aim to make up for lag and latency across games (since Bungie does not have dedicated servers) in order to ensure the fairest game possible.

The auto-aim IS overdone, however...

It needs to be reduced. Not to the point that it knocks the whole thing out of whack, but to the point that battle rifle whores can't gun you down across the map with it, despite the fact that they suck.

It should be there. Just reduce it.

Yes, for a balance reason. If there were no Auto-Aim, that would be as hard to shoot with the BR as to shoot with the sniper in no-scope. Imagine how unbalanced it would be. The sniper/rocket launcher guy would own everybody, even more that they did in Halo 2.

Wow, how can you say "No Auto-Aim?"

Almost all shooters have AA, Halo 2 just has a lot more of it. Have you ever tried betraying a teammate and noticed it's a lot harder to shoot them? That's because there is 0 AA on teammates.

Think before you vote, for the love of God.

Aim assistance and auto aim are very different. We currently have what the update calls aim "stickyness," which varies with each weapon. Auto aim is usually referred to as a bot used by hackers, which aims for you.

Let it be optional such as if certain players feel they need it to account for online lag and such then let them use the standard setting. But for people who don't have lagg problems or like to play less auto aim filled lan or single console games let them disable or reduce auto aim. I really enjoyed a mod I once played where the auto aim was stripped from halo 2. IT really made for a much more intense game in my view(which is of coarse a variable for every player), Along with in general making shots harder to earn it also made a lot of the weaker weapons much more powerful. With the auto aim taken away from the BR it made head shots actually a challenge and not the norm which allowed a lot of the weaker medium range guns a whole lot more availability.

Yes but keep it low so it doesn't stay on the person or tracks another person when they walk infront of the person you are shooting.
Just to clear things up-

Aim Assist- When the reticle slows over a target.

Auto Aim- When the reticle stays on the head of the target.

H2 just has too much aim assist. And also big hitboxes.

Way to big of hit boxes. Auto aim should be reduced to almost nothing, especially with the sniper.

The only weapons with auto aim should be the Needlers and the Plasma Pistol(but like it was in Halo 1)

Agreed. Less auto aim.

I think that some degree of sticky aim, where the reticule slows down when going over a hitbox is neccessary for online play, especially when using controllers, but the hitboxes in Halo 2 are just too damn big, particularly the head radius.

I mean it's the size of the headbox in UT99, only UT99 was designed back in the day when 56k was the broadband.

The size of the hitboxes should go back to what they were in Halo CE.

This is a very good point!
