You face an opponent who has never known defeat, who laughs in foreign tongues at your efforts to survive. This is Reply suicide.
"Oh Molly Connoly ruined my life, I thought the world should know."

I'd like to point out that the "Dark" Sims on Perfect Dark 64 had to CHEAT to be a challenge.
That is to say...
Super accuracy, super response time, always have radar (even if you disable it for the map), within seconds of spawning have the best weapon on the map or duals of it, super speed, always hit you in the head, and always run to your location upon your spawn.
The only way to make a Bot "challenging" is to give it "cheating" features.
And of the few people who posted who wanted Bots... If it's representative of the WHOLE community...
There aren't many of you. What do we have, about 20 people out of a list of MILLIONS of players worldwide?
Doesn't sound to me like a worthwhile endeavor.
And it's a proven FACT that Bots are added into gameplay to increase replay value. This is why notoriously crappy games tend to have BOTS. Why? You wouldn't play it, because nobody else is. They give you Bots so you will play it.
Okay... so you want to run around a map for an hour or a half hour, shooting Bots. I won't question your sanity... But what prevents you from buying a second controller and loading in a character, taping down the joystick, and then trying to find the guy to shoot?
Did I ever get bored with Multiplayer? Yep, I did. Before I had Xbox Live, yes I did. I would occassionally have friends who didn't want to play (they were tired of me winning, despite all they did to cheat). And there were times when I was sick of the Campaign...
But to be PERFECTLY honest... I used that spare time to practice the maps. To know them inside and out. I spent that time trying to get on top of levels or find glitches... I spent that time trying to get vehicles into areas they normally aren't supposed to be in.
Like getting the Scorpion up the snow slopes and across the bridge on Sidewinder. Or get it inside the tunnels in the middle of the same map.
I spent time trying to get a Ghost or a Warthog into the tops of the bases in Sidewinder.
I found a way to completely eliminate the Tanks in Blood Gulch, by stuffing them into a cave, where they cannot get out because of the way the inside of the cave is designed.
I spent considerable time trying to drag Warthogs and Ghosts to the bottoms of shafts in Campaign.
I spent time in the first level of Halo 1 pushing the invicible marines into a hole so they couldn't shoot me anymore, and then shooting at them from the top of the ladder, until the level automatically reset (after an hour or so).
I spent hours making gametypes just to try to be crazy...
I spent time looking for the best places to snipe from on every map, or best ways to get around without being seen.
I spent time messing with my colors to find the best overall color to blend in with surroundings.
I spent a lot of time grenade jumping to get to locales I wasn't suppossed to be in.
I enjoyed the heck out of the game WITHOUT Bots...
And if you need Bots in order to enjoy the game, then Halo is NOT the game for you. I'm sorry, but it's not.
I highly suggest picking up Perfect Dark Zero if you want to kill some Bots for a while. For that hour or half hour. That will quench your craving for easy kills and unsatisfying gaming. Then, load up Halo again, and have at it.
And I'd like to note that XBox 360 DOES come with XBL if you buy the big package. I know most of you did buy the big package along with a game. So you guys have Live, if you bother to set it up and play it. It comes with all the equipment to do so, as well.
So, I doubt you'll have a need for Bots in Halo 3, when the system that will play it, COMES with a years worth of play online for it.
But hey, who am I to say such things?
I'm just a twenty-year-old gamer who takes all gaming seriously and finds very FEW games to actually be fun or worthwhile (I'm not easily impressed). Nevermind that I've seen the rise of Bots and the fall of them... Nevermind that I own so many horrible and terrible games that I would know what makes a game stupid and horrible... Nevermind that I can get reviews and information on any game that comes out and on the things that would irk me about them, or the things that irk other players about them...
And lets' face a HUGE fact right now, before I end this post....
Every last one of you who wants Bots in the game has, at some point or another, complained about the AI in Campaign not being hard enough. And because you want Bots... You've not played enough games with them IN IT. They are, and will remain, a dumbed down version of the Campaign Bots. Why? Multiplayer maps play MUCH differently than Campaign Maps. The Bots would require a LOT more coding to even be worthwhile.
I don't want to sacrifice valuable disk space for a dumbed down version of the Campaign AI on a Multiplayer Map. I'd rather shell out the $50 for a years subscription to XBL, or the $30 for another controller and $2 for some tape to give myself a moving target. It would take as much skill to kill that moving target as a Bot, and be just as satisfying.
Anyone who has killed Bots as much as I have, or as long as I have, knows that there's very LITTLE satisfaction in killing Bots, even if you're doing it just to pass time. You leave the game and find something better to do. That's why I no longer play the original Perfect Dark. That's why I don't play Perfect Dark Zero, unless I aim at an Achievement. It's why I don't play Unreal Tournament (any of them) and why I was a little unimpressed with Doom. It's why I seldom play against computers on Starcraft (or Broodwar) and why I dislike playing Mario Party without a full room of people.
I grew up with Bots and games that use them to try to enhance the "fun" of the game. If it does work, the shine fades quickly, and you're back to looking for a new game.
I don't want Halo 3 to be like that. Halo is cool in it's own right, WITHOUT Bots. It didn't need Bots to sell Halo 1, and it didn't need them to sell Halo 2. It won't need them to sell Halo 3, and let's be honest...
You jerks would still buy Halo 3 even if it didn't have Bots.
It's just a tacky feature you want added because you either don't have money or don't have friends... I suggest finding new things to do with the game, or a new game to play.
If you can't buy a game, rent one.
I don't want to hear any more excuses. I can shoot them all out of the water, so don't bother.
Why not just tell us that you guys don't have any friends and we can end this debate once and for all?
Thank you.
