Well it took me about a week to figure out, but my xbox controller has a slight problem.

Pressing down on the left thumbstick not only does whatever is assigned to that button, but it also does whatever is assigned to the "back" button as well. So when I crouch in Halo multiplayer it brings up the score as well, or when I use the force in Jedi Outcast it brings up the mission objectives.

Does anyone know how to fix this, or will I have to go exchange it with a new controller?

I would just exchange it. I can't think of any fixes.

Personally I would open it and attempt to discern the problem. But that is the kind of stuff I like to do. I wouldn't recommend it unless you are willing to face the consequences that might result from an action such as that. But if you can exchange it for a new one, go for it.

Well you can try using rubbing alchohyl and cotton swabs. DON'T Use real alchohyl!!!! If that doesn't work exchange it or see if their was a warranty.
