Hm. I would suppose that its something to do with the way your computer connects to the internet. Now, for a mac, it'll be a little different, but the tips are generally the same.
I would check for firewalls and stuff that restrict internet access for certain programs. Make sure you allowed Halo full access of the internet, and open porst 2302 and 2303 for communication. If you have a game mode in your firewall, turn that on while playing, and if all else fails, then just completely shut down your firewall and it should be fine. In Windows, there's a built-in, less powerful firewall that provides adequate protection while playing, meaning that you can turn off your main firewall and just rely on that while playing. Not sure if Mac has that kinda feature, but just a suggestion.
Also, check your connections and settings for anything that might block Halo.
