I know 4 player co-op has already been suggested on a number of occassions (including over xbox live with over 4 players and by system link) but one of the maina rguments against it that has been put forward is its difficulty. There would be too few enemies to kill and would thus be boring. To counter this the amount of enemies should increase in a ratio to how many players there are. Also you should have the option for (in single player) you can raise this ratio becuase although legendary is hard you could make it hardser and funner still by icnreasing the amoutn of enemies!I APOLOGISE IF THIS IDEA HAS BEEN PUT OUT BEFORE.

I would like that.

I would think it would be sweet if the 4 players were scattered all over the map and still having to accomplish the objectives while trying to link up into a group.

thats a sweet idea! that way you are not all trying to kill the same enemies. you all have to complete different objectives for each other to progress. like you an a friend are on different sides of a ship, and for one to go through a main door the other has to blow the switch to unlock the door. so you can help each other but not in kills, but in objectives... good idea

Mendicant Bias: Someone set us up the Halo. We get signal.
Gravemind: What?!
Medicant Bias: Main screen turn on.
Gravemind: It's you!
Offensive Bias: How are you, Enemy? All your base are belong to Forerunner. You are on the way to destruction.
Gravemind: What you say?!
Offensive Bias: You have no chance to survive, make your time. Ha ha ha.

Exactly. In order to capture a large objective, it's usaully best to appraoch from different sides. The 4 spartans could go through the level with groups of marines then, (lets say the objective is to capture a covenant outpost) The 4 groups could either meet up earlier on, and mass atack from one direction, divide into two teams, ans strike in 2 directions, or 4 teams, to surround the base. Add a little bit of strategy to it. This could also go along with the multiple paths idea. "Should I go and confront them head on? Or maybe I could go to the roof of that building and snipe them."

In order for this to work, however, Halo 3 would have to have large open environments instead of linear levels like Halo 1 and 2 had.

What about if a slow player comes to the end too late something happens.
A good example would be Halo 2's Mombasa levels.
If a player is too slow he is killed in the slipspace warp while the others survive to continue without him/her.

Yeah, that would work best with that idea.

That is a sweet idea, I would really like to see that in Halo 3. I agree about the open environments also. Halo 1 seemed to be more "open" than Halo 2 which was better for big battles.
