Would Bungie be looking forward to put Halo 3 on HD DVD, since there is a lot more disc space on them and Bungie would want to take advantage of it..?

What do you think..?

one problem with that... there is still no hd dvd attactchment for the 360 even though there is one on the way... that would mean everyone would have to buy one to play H3.. and 360 is in no way compatible with blue-ray because thats sony's "innovation". i use that term lightly.

Blu-ray is Ps3, HD-DVD is 360.
Microsoft owns Bungie, therefore Halo3 on 360.

the 360 cant read a blu ray disk, so that leaves the hd dvd...

No.

Microsoft has said several times that games will remain on "normal" DVDs.

HD-DVD's only have a slight advantage when it comes to picture quality. It really isnt something to upgrade over. Same case with Blue Ray, they just hold 3 times more information, and are 3 times more expensive.

The 360, however cannot run Blue Ray Technology. It is entirely different than a normal DVD or HD-DVD. That is why Sony is in the dumps, thier Blue Ray disc games will cost $90+.

They didn't tell us what it was it could have been anything. Frankie gets scared easy incase you didn't know.

Been here 6 years, been blacklisted 6 times, that's why I'm not Mythic.

But H3 will probably end up on HD DVD because it's better quality. And Sony is dumb because apparently they are going to be disbanding used games, rented games, and borrowed games.

^^ Well Microsoft said in the E3 press-conference that they will be bringing an attachment for the 360 the HD DVD drive. So, what will be the point of bringing that attachment if they are not going to use it..? Or use it only to watch DVDs..?

And if I recall correctly it will be out later this year, and Halo 3 is later next year, perhaphs Microsoft might change their thinking. (just a thought)

Not for games, as he said, but for HD-DVD's, like HD Movies.

yeah they will be using it for DVDs. but not for games because that would mean that everyone that wanted to play halo 3 not only would need a 360 but would almost need to spend a couple of hundred dollers to buy the attachment. but hey i wouldnt complain because im going to get the attatchment anyways.

The use of it as an external peripheral is that if someone wants to watch HD Movies, they will need a High-Def capable disk player. By using an external device, the consumer can choose to use that.

But the games will not load from an external drive.

Imagine running your PC Operating System off of an external USB drive. Sure you can, but it's not as fast as an IDE or SATA connection on the motherboard.

Ok. But think, IF there was an option that game developers could use that external drive for gaming purposes, would Bungie use it then..?

Stop grasping at straws.

It's not going to happen, mostly for the reasons Recon outlined.

No, would you want a game that looked as good as it does now that runs perfectly, or a game that looks slightly better and runs slower?

Well the original Xbox probably doesn't have the capability of running the Halo 3 engine, thus lacking the capability to generate the physics and the grapics.

Listen to Recon.

Blu-ray will not, and I repeat, NOT be for the 360. And if Halo 3 was to be put on HD-DVD (but that's a BIG if...) Bungie would probably take advantage of the larger storage space and better screen quality.(Although I don't see how it can be any better seeing as how the teaser trailer was VERY high quality.)

The only thing you can get out of HD-DVD's that you cant get out of a normal DVD is more space and a slightly crisper picture.

Yess.. Thankyou for pointing out the mistake about the Blu-Ray (At first I didn't know which attachment was coming out for 360). I've edited all my posts so it talks only about HD DVD (now please stop flaming me for that)

And it still is 1 and a quarter year until Halo 3 comes out. Technology can change very quickly....
