I think Bungie should add another sniper rifle to the line up - the Anti-matter Rifle. Rounds bigger than .50 Caliber, more recoil, longer to reload but highly effective against targets on vehicles. Thoughts?

Obviously you don't understand what anti-matter is.

Anti-matter is just that. The opposite of matter. Matter is what everything you see, touch etc is made of.

When Anti-matter hits matter, it "annihalates" (sp?), which is a physics term, which in lamens terms means it explodes.

That means any projectile consisting of anti-matter, would explode on contact with any matter, such as that found in the air in-between your gun and your target.

As such, an anti-matter rifle would not be a valid weapon.

Anti-matter explosive charges however are fine. The anti-matter is suspended in an electromagnetic feild, and once the detonater is triggerd, the feild collapses, letting matter and anti-matter collide, thus the explosion.

Caboose: "your a thing that babies suck on?"
Tucker: "no dude, that's a pedephile"
Church: "tucker, i think he means a pacifier"

that's reaching a little too far for a halo game. your getting more into unreal status with that one.

You kidding? If any amount of Anti-Matter comes in contact with matter, it has the cababilty to completely obliterate 2 cities and more...

A assault rifle full of explosive HE rounds would be much more statasfying than a rifle that wouldn't kill anything.

Correction, it would kill yourself, once it comes into contact with matter, which will either be the gun, or the air in the barrel. Pretty much, you pull the trigger, and your dead.

Remember, you only need 0.25 grams of anti-matter to level New York.

From a book called "Angels and Demons". IT IS FICTION! But it uses hypothetical physics calculations to accuratly dictate an appropriate amount of anti-matter, that according to relevant calcualtions would appear to be hypothetically correct.

Your "hmmmmm" tells me you don't understand...

Let me put it this way.

The computer said so when the scientists asked it.

It's called "intelligence", something most of this community hasn't discovered yet.

Didn't the discovery channel do something on anti-matter bombs recently? That would be a good replacement for nukes.

i got what you were saying, perhaps i should have put "ahhhhh" or "ohhhh"

and deadly warrior, don't be an ass, most people don't go through life trying to learn the hypothetical results of the possible introduction of antimatter to matter. your statement makes you look just as stupid if not worse.

Not really, concidering there is no currently economically viable way to produce the anti-matter.

You whizz some stuff round in a particle accelerator about 5 miles long (if it is straight like in the USA) or round a 3 mile wide "doughnut" shaped one (see CERN), until they collide close to the speed of light, and if your lucky you get 1 maybe 2 atoms of the stuff.

And i can get this "Anti-matter" where??? jk, but seriously i would like to see an explosion like that take place in a game or something.

Now was that on the discovery channel? Besides, one or two atoms makes quite a big bang if what I heard is true.

Actually no. I don't have access to the discovery channel. This is just stuff I know, cause I like Physics, particularly Space and Particles.

And oh yes, huge explosion. It's just not viable to produce the anti-matter that way. Also, we currently have no viable way of containing the stuff once it is created.

Yes, you may not be able to make an anti-matter rifle.

but you could use the same theory that is used in an anti-matter explosive device.

The could propose the idea to create such a rifle that could eject the electro-magnetic casing that the anti-matter resides in. The impact of the casing on any such surface would cause the casing to crack, or break. Letting any kind of matter into the casing.

boom. cityshot.

If you wanted to wipe out half of the planet, sure an anti-matter bomb would be a good replacement. Like he said, you only need 0.25 grams of anti matter to level New York, which is a big city. And bombs weigh 300-400 pounds or more. So just imagine how destructive that would be.

You would obviously make it smaller. That might even make it possible to destroy places faster. If 0.25 grams will level new york than you could make small bombs and shoot them really fast and reaaallllly far. WE WOULD RULE THE WORLD!!! USA, USA, USA!!! WOOT WOOT!!!!!!!

If Humans had anti-matter bombs, why would we use them on Earth? Why not bomb CCS or the remaining Halos?
