(THIS POLL IS JUST FOR HALO MULTIPLAYER!!!!) U know how they always say surround sound gives u a directional advantage since u can actually hear where stuff is coming from and how HDTV's give snipers an advantage because it is alot clearer. i dont know about u guys but i can kill people just as good with/without any of those options. i have surround sound but the only time i use it is when i am playing campaign or just split screen. I have played halo using both (my brother has an hdtv) but if anything it just makes it look a lot better. Dont get me wrong, i would love to have an hdtv all to myself for whenever i want it but i dont think they give u that big of an advantage. Tell me what u think.

Yo Halo53, I'm real happy for you and I'ma let you finish, but Beyonce had one of the best bungie.net profiles of all time. OF ALL TIME!

I don't think it gives you THAT big of an advantage. If you are really good it shouldn't matter if your opponent can see you a little clearer or whatever.

The HDTV makes the game even more realistic than before (impossible you might think, but its true). The surround sound only works if you get a good one, if not, its just a waste of money since the game is still good w/out surround sound.

Yes. It's an excellent experience to play Halo with Surround Sound and a HDTV. My main reason for buying the HDTV was for Halo 2, and I'm glad to see that Halo 2 will have widescreen support. While playing in campaign or in multiplayer, it's great to know where your enemies are no matter where you are. Surround Sound gives you a better advantage that HDTV, but both help. With the HDTV, you can see clearly accross the Blood Gulch. It's beautiful.

isn't the first halo only in 480p HD? does it look that much better than just regular tv? i want to get a hdtv for halo 2 but i don't know if its going to be worth it cause i've heard that halo 2 may not be in HD higher than 480 and i've heard that 480p really isn't all that much better than regular tv. sorry this is a little of subject.

It looks better if you have been playing Halo forever on a normal tv.

A little better. But I heard Bungie is going to make Halo 2 even better w/ HDTV, but that is yet to be confirmed. So wait until it comes out. Unless you want to get it now for some other reason.

I hope they tell us if it will support better HD before the release date. i read in an interview with someone from bungie, forgot who, and they were asked if halo 2 was going to support HD the guy said yes but said they hadn't decided on 480p or 720p. One last question spartan. do you think it'd be worth spending the money to get an HDTV if halo 2 is only in 480p HD or just keep a regular tv. i'm planning on buy a bigger tv already. 24" ain't cutting it anymore.

haha, it depends. I can't describe it to you, graphics aren't something you can express with words. If you are willing to buy and HDTV, and willing to take the risk of buying it early, I reccommend you buy a small HDTV like 40" or something. The graphics do look better, but there isn't a difference you would say "WOW" to. We'll see about halo 2.
