Are there any plans for either Firefox or Bungie to fix this? FYI I'm running Firefox PR .10 on Win XP. Oh, and also why doesn't mouse scroll seem to work on this site? (it works on every other site I've been to...)

Yea, after writing that I just realised mouse scroll is now working, LOL! They must have fixed that! Still quite slow though...but I reported a bug to MS.

First of all stop trying to be a moderator (VII Toast). It makes you look like you are trying to kiss someone's butt.

Second - why would a company that makes a non-standards compliant browser, build a website for a browser that a. isn't theirs, b. is much more standards compliant?

They aren't going to optimize b.net for Firefox...just live with it. I'm just glad they fixed the scroll button thing.

Here's the low down dirty true facts of your not so glorious life combined with a splash of sunshine:

Firefox is actually slower to load and run than IE. mainly because IE is pretty much built into the windows operating system. Firefox is an "offbrand" web browser. Thus loading, and browsing will take longer. In fact, it also views and loads websites differently on occasion.

Tada!

It loads slower because it has so many other features than IE does...

It views and loads websites (quicker) differently because it actually follows the W3C standards for CSS cross-browser support.

Firefox is not "offbrand" - it's a web browser that's being built in response to the deficiencies of IE. And...It's free.

"offbrand" - not the norm and mass market.

It loads websites quicker/slower/wrong/odd. it's a mixmatch at best (Even still I use firefox.

Also, the loading is based off your computer system. like any other program. speed and all that.

Yes, because I like arbitrarily shutting out a bunch of our users. This site gets more Safari traffic than Firefox traffic, but we do most of our layout using standard CSS implementations. Firefox renders this site correctly.

And please, stop insinuating that because we are owned by Microsoft that we have a stake in what browser you use. It isn't my job to get you to like IE more than a different product. Besides, in my view, a browser should be used based on performance and features, not because I lock a site to force you to use it.

This MS conspiracy crap is so tired and old. Everybody is not out to get you.

When I wrote that I should have distanced Bungie and Microsoft a bit more. I was simply trying to explain that there was no point in designing a website around anything but IE- and that there will be things that don't work exactly how they are designed to in firefox as opposed to IE.

I didn't want to sound like you are trying to control our browser use, (it sounds like it I know, I apologize.) I just thought I would try to explain how when designing this site, IE was probably the primary browser designed for.

As far as the conspiracy stuff- I don't believe in it either- I just think it's hilarious that a company (Microsoft) that is a part of the W3C organization to set webstandards- doesn't actually follow them...I digress.

I do appreciate all the work that's been done to provide a better browsing experience for the Firefox users.

Thanks!

p.s. Give the graphic artists/designers some kudos for me, I LOVE how this site is designed- the theme is great.
