......slave races. Each race serves a purpose. from engineers to soldiers. what if the covenant at one time were slaves to the forerunners. suppose they where made with a genitic predisposition to worship thier masters. suppose there was a revolt. hundreds of thousands of years ago. for all those who think humans are forerunners(myslef included) i could possibly explain the current desire of the covenant to wipe out humanity.
just some more cannon fodder to splash around for some debate.

Possibly, atlhough I agree it'd be more to and by the prophets than the Forerunner.. the Elites I don't think had as much gene meddling to make them subservient, maybe more warrorlike (like MC). Now as for the prophets, maybe they were an experiment gone wrong and the humans were an experiment that is unfinished, but more successful..

Great idea Gruntstyle. I like it, but I see one problem. 343 GS doesn't
recognize the Covenant. If they were once slaves to the Forerunner,
then 343 would have seen them as more of a threat. The only time
he mentions the Covenant is when he talks about the "other" species
on the ring that keeps getting into restricted areas. He must be
talking about the Covenant, because if you remember, the dead
Elite was there before the Human strike team ever found the
Flood.

Of course, if 343 isn't a Forerunner A.I., he might have a reason
not to recognize the Covenant. =)
