I believe that to finish the fight Master Chief will continue the misson that the Spartans aboard the Pillar of Autumn were assigned before Reach was attacked and they had to flea. The mission consisted of capturing a covenant ship with a prophet (alive) and bringing them back to earth to force a treaty/pact. Now that the Covenant are on Earth, It would make it easy for Chief to capture a ship, and get a prophet because the prophets will surely be there with an event as important as this vast discovery on Earth. Please respond with any thoughts/ideas that you all have.

why are you calling him an idiot. thats a good idea. there are plenty of humans left. if their were no humans left why would the master chief still fight to protect earth. and think about it if he captured the prophet of truth he could end the war right then and there.

The covenant are hell bent on destroying humanity... at least truth is anyway, and since there already at earth, captuing a prophet probably wouldnt do much... since he'se already killed one, and another was killed by the flood.

First off, there is practically no human power on the globe except the Master Chief and a few scattered marines. The Covenant have entire worlds, not to mention fleets of ships finishing destroying the last of the UNSC ships. Truth could not be captured like this. Besides, everyone is too busy saving humanity. It would be best to kill Truth, because humanity is in no position to make demands. I must admit that the setting for the plot is well done, but I don't see where he'd be forced to ally/who will supervise it.

listen to them... they're right... the books don't have any effect on the games story... The books are based on the GAME not the other way around... get a grip i'm so sick of these -blam!- topics popping up.

let me put it in words that you might understand.
*cough* *cough* *sneeze* *fart*
Why do hotdogs come in packages of 8, but hotdog buns come in packages of 10?
Only when you summon the answer to my question, will you fully understand the answer to your question.

*Bows and walks away*

If you remember anything the prophet of truth is the center of the covenant. the convenant do anything he says. if he were to be captured im pretty sure the convenant would want to listen and the prophet of truth would be a coward and try to do anything he can to get out of the situation, including agreeing to cease trying to destroy the humans.

In general, the books and games are related to each other.

Are we all forgetting the MC is that close to capturing Truth, stowing away on the same ship as him? The last we saw, all he had was a few Brutes as bodyguards.

Forget trying to capture the Prophets, it's a new game now. Called kill the Prophets even if it means going on a galactic rampage. Like "strike the head, and body will fall" kind of thing.

Call me crazy, but maybe, just maybe, the Impending Galatic Doom will take priority, since the purpose of the mission they had orginally planned isn't really there any more. [Sarcasm] Although I have no proof for my crazy-ass theory. [/sarcasm]
