Bungie, I wanted to know if you would ever put Halo 1 on Xbox Live Marketplace(LIVE enabled).

While I do not represent Bungie, from my own opinion, there is a slim chance of this ever happening.

There have been no official announcements about putting halo ce on 360 marketplace. There was a rumor that they would start downloading old xbox games to marketplace like halo but that was an April fools joke. It would be cool if they did release halo ce on marketplace though.

Well, I have been playing alot of Halo:CE on XboxConnect and for 1v1, 2v2, and even 3v3, Halo:CE is easily the best FPS I ever played (by far). I like Halo2, I like PDZ, but they really don't compare for small team games. So, I would unleash some serious giggles if Bungie/Msoft/???? ever released an Xbox-Live enabled Halo1. Even if they did only minor improvements to the compress the net packets (Halo1 actually plays OK for 2v2 over XbC and that is with a limited number of hosts available online), that would be fine with me.

it's kind of obvious which halo game got the most funding, I personally like the special edition of halo 2. Why doesn't bungie create a special edition of Halo CE built for the 360 including multiplayer. The answer must be time and money, but it still would be really cool.

The game is too big. It won't be on marketplace.

It can't take that long! They already have systemlink/LAN.. and xbconnect.. they could just work off xbconnect or something.

They built H2 in 10 months, so it can't take no more than 10 months to impliment live into Halo1[;

You might be right, but I think everyone here was probably talking about a MP-only Halo1 with minimal Xbox Live support. So, the campaign would be left out and I would assume this would save a decent amount of space -- although it still might not be enough for a Marketplace download.

There is a sticky thread in this forum titled "How to...play Halo online" which covers this in some detail. You can also visit www.xbconnect.com.

Halo1 online is a lot of fun, but it can be pretty laggy. After some practice, you can get used to the lag (you learn to lead your opponent a little more than normal -- especially for sniping) but it can still be annoying at times. Even with the lag, it is still some of the most fun I have had playing an FPS online.

do you have the special edition of halo 2? It shows how bungie made the game and it took alot more than 10 months, not exact time but you get the picture. Also when I mention the money needed i mean the money that they would recieve on Halo 1 compared to devoting all time and energy to creating halo 3 and getting alot more money. Thats what I mean

Joke?

Or do you have a screenshot, link, or any other evidence?

Yes, please provide evidence!!
yeah, I know, its probably just a lame joke :(

I vaguely remember a rumor from EGM earlier this year, but I still
suspect that this is all total BS. Even if they released Halo on the
Marketplace, I imagine it would not have XBL support.

Still, hoping.....

Sureley if its only the multiplayer part of the game it wouldn't be too dificult to make would it? Perhaps after they've finished Halo 3 they'll make it.

By the way can anybody tell me how to get XbConnect working? I've downloaded it and made an account but I haven't been able to join any games with it.
