Well, in some parts of the game (silent cartographer pathway after the hunters is best) you can let a jackal standing next to an elite know you're there, so he prepares a chargeup. Lay low for a while and try to get in a new position. Eventually the jackal will look - and aim - at the elite. Shoot the jackal in the head, his weapon discharges as he dies, and the elite is now shieldless. Pop him one too. I've had jackals save my life in Legendary before in firefights this way.
I have two favorite memories from MP, both in blood gulch. My roommates are 3rd year noobs prettymuch, so they often team up against me. They were driving the warthog along the cliff path, and when they reached the top, in full view of my sniper rifle, I capped the driver, whose body fell out and rolled downhill. The gunner knew that he couldn't make it running, so he just sat there in the gunner seat up on the highest point of the cliff, shooting in the general direction of the contrail. I had plenty of time to peg him and enjoyed it.
Then there was the time that I was tank sniping from the hill behind red base, moved as fast as I could to the blue base where a guy was still launching rockets at the hill, and meleed him from the back. He still wants to know how I got to his end of BG when he thought I was at the other end.
