Subject: The two most important things Bungie MUST get right in Halo 2 Vista

The bungie.net community is the halo PC community that is renowned for being unbelieveably sucky.

1. There must be a voting system (like Halo 2 Xbox) to kick tkers.

2. And this one is perhaps just as important if not more so, a way to identify AFK or idle players. The way I see this being done is simply for the game to recognize inactivity after a few minutes, then give teamates the option to boot.

TKers and idle players are the two biggest problems with Halo PC today, and Bungie would be wise to address these two concerns with Halo 2 Vista, otherwise it will be deja vu all over again for us.

I agree.

You have no idea wtf you're talking about, because there is no vote-kick system on Xbox Live to boot teamkillers. Anyway, the first problem you stated is a moot point, because the problem with teamkillers is practically nonexistent on Halo 2 on Xbox Live compared to Halo PC's.

I think that the game identifying and booting people who are AFK should be optional, but I like the idea.

Voting would be nice, it takes off some responsibility from the host, so they don't have to watch a server like a hawk.

Last time I checked, when you get TKed by someone repeatedly or intentionally playing Halo 2, a little screen comes up that says press X to boot. That what I meant by voting system.

Not sure why you felt you had to say "you don't know wtf your're taking about," but I won't be a dick about it since you already got repremanded for being a jerk by a mod today.

who says you have to be an ace to have fun?

Stupid parents let their stupid children play games that are rated M when they should be playing Big Birds Spelling Adventures

Also the AR is actually good in CQB now and no longer a glorified baseball bat.

That's not voting. That's an option given to an individual user.

I don't want that type of thing in H2 Vista because it is glitchy and lets people boot non tkers.

I would like a voting system where all users vote, however.

I don't like the AFK boot idea. I would rather have it so after a period of time with no activity, someone is made an observer until they come back.

I wonder if the Wolf thinks the Moon listens when he howls at it.

well if you have had any experience with playing Ps2's Socom online there is a good vote system that can vote ignorant, noobish, or tking players. Voting is good but Admin kicking is better.

You are obviously new, but the "n" word isn't allowed here.

On to my main point:
New people have a right to play so they can get better. Kicking them is just abusing the system in my opinion. I was new to Halo PC, and I still consider myself new to it. That doesn't mean that I should be kicked from it.

Luckily I don't play the PS2 so I don't have to deal with jerks that kick new players.

I must agree. I've been in a game where I didn't even touch one of my teammates and I was randomly booted. And then there's another problem with it, like when you lock on a vehicle with a rocket launcher and let go of the trigger right as one of your stupid teammates hijacks it.

And, Frnksnbns, if I do act like a dick, this is me we're talking about. I didn't mean to offend you, I'm just an impatient bastard.

Master Kim should watch some Mr. Roger's Neighborhood. That literally made me cry. I wanted to take my goldfish out of the tank and give him a hug afterwards, but I don't think Hobbes would appreciate that.

Anyway, voting is a great option until you're in a server full of people who have something against you and kick you out. I can see it now, being kicked out of my own clan's server on Saturday mornings when there's a bunch of people who think breaking rules makes them badass, and there's no admin to help me out by canceling the vote. I have yet to earn my clan leader's trust, so I haven't gotten rcon. I'm a newer member, so he's just waiting and testing my loyalty.

On the lighter side, imagine the return of the infamous (ME)=KING in Halo 2 PC with this option available. Those that know of him(the majority who are actually active HPC players) would kick him out on sight. Despite referring to Mr. Rogers in this post, I do hate people who try to ruin games for other people. Maybe (ME)=KING could use some Mr. Rogers?

I agree with FrnksNBns on the observer idea, but what if the server is very popular and they are just taking up space? I suppose an admin could boot them.
