Maybe they should make a system of points, and it includes your sprees, your accuracy, your headshots, and all the other options, and instead of having the ranks, they could make achievements when you gain enough points. Then, they just hide the matchmaking levels, and everything is perfect. :D
Yes, hide those suckers!!! I for one am not going to wait in line for Halo 3 as I did with Halo 2. I'll let it come out, hear what others have to say before I buy it this time. I'll have to see a lot of improvements all around. The only real deal breaker for me will be a lack of a server browser/self populating rooms. If that's not in there this time, I'm not getting it. Other things I would like to see, but aren't deal breakers....
Ranks hidden
Better net code
A "mute other team" option
Much less buggy (but, bugs tend to take a while to surface)
Power weapon respawn even if it's held
Visual representation of health (doesn't have to be the H1 system. But, there is health in H2, just can't see it anymore. This is very apparent in SWAT)
Personally, I don't really care about the campaign. The real replay value is in the multiplayer. If they screw that up, the coolest campaign in the world doesn't matter much IMHO. I still play Halo CE on XBC with my friends on the weekends...that's how good it was/is. I would hope they would be willing to have two sets of weapons. What works in the campaign against grunts doesn't always translate well to multiplayer.
Edit: Forgot something I'd like to see changed. Go back to the Halo CE aspect ratio. Halo 2 has a "zoomed in" feel to it. You go to melee someone or are near a large object like a wall and it's too easy to lose your sense of direction. I never got that feeling playing Halo CE. I even played some of the Halo 2 campaign the other day, and noticed it was the same way in the campaign.
