I was wondering if players would like to be able to make their games public for other players to browse from a list.
So They could select IE a CTF game on Coag. and it would simply show custom matches that are within the options set.

I was thinking that a lot other games allow you to search for Specific gametypes.
I often find that no one on my friendslist is on at that moment, and I would like to play a specific gametype, and being able to host games for the public to join would be a great improvement.

Obviously Ranked games would remain in the typical matchmaking setup.
But what do you think of adding this option to custom games?

Note* Forgive me if this has been Polled already.

Something similar has been posted before. This is unique becuase it offers an actual plan.

Id love this. I dont like being forced to play maps and gametypes I dont want to play. Nor do I have enough time to create a custom match and wait for my friends to offer the invites. It would be great if we could just browse custom gametypes and matches. Of course it would be custom only.

It would not make Matchmaking meaning less. This is only for CUSTOM matches. Alot of people will still use matchmaking for a more level playing field and ranking. .This will just make those of us who like custom matches, do so in an easier way.

If you vote no. Please state why. Id like to know how this would have a negative affect.

IMO you'd have to be crazy not to want this. And no, it won't make matchmaking obsolete because public customs will just be with random people and guests but matchmaking will still offer the chance to play with equally skilled players and play gamelists that are created and balanced by the community and developers.

I'd like the party system much as before.. Having the options:

Open (Friends Only)
Invite Only
Closed
Open (Public)

(10:19:49 PM) Scruss: oh and pezza, i saw what you did to that cat
(10:20:17 PM) Pezza: You were the one with the video camera breathing heavily. Of course you saw.

Good idea, I like.

I don't think anyone could disagree with this addition. It doesn't hurt any of the other options already established, and unless there are major complications in development, I think it will make it to Halo 3.

One could only hope that a feature that is not only practical, but would also be enjoyed be the community, would make it into the game.

Didnt you guys read the update the other week? They said that in halo 3 that would be available.

They said something about transferring your LAN game into a Live Custom game.

We are talking about creating a custom game, that other players can view and join, with or without being on your friends list, and with or without being invited.

I must have missed it. I remember Bungie stating something about custom matchmaking Playlists for Halo 2. That's not really the same as choosing a list of created custom matches.

This would make the Live interface practically perfect. Matchmaking is great and a good way to set up ranking and pre-set game options for quick playing. Allowing custom matches to be populated with random people would be a great idea. This way people can play custom CTF games, Slayer, TS, etc. Other games allow for private or public custom games. Why not Halo? Just tweak the system a bit.

Yeah sorry about that i just reread it you guys are right.

But if we can choose any game type we want what would be the point of custom matches being public? The only difference is that they are unranked. It would always be a custom match if we can choose what we wanna play.

Basically it would be the same system that GRAW has.
You can pick out a few options from a list of gametypes and maps, and it will show you all the nonranked matches that fill those requirements.

So if for instance you are up late one night. There is no one on your friendslist, and you feel like playing CTF on Coag or whatever, you could either host or join a custom match that is playing that. Without having to guess with training playlists.

I find that this feature would be quite practical and would be used quite a bit.

thats what there doing. You can choose map how many players and gametype no guessing.

How do you know this? I hope you are right. It would certainly make alot more sense this way. It is silly for only friends to be join/invited to custom matches. It makes custom matches Now (in Halo 2) almost pointless.

One thing that I would like to see while viewing a list of Custom Games.
I'd like to see the Party Leaders Reputation.
So you could avoid all the player with low rep from cursing and lewdness.

Yeah. You have a good point. I just hope this "lobby" setup is not just for only those on your friends list, instead Public lobby where it is easy to gather people if you dont have alot of friends or when friends are not online.

But that would be making Assumptions.
Which would make an Ass out of U and Mptions!!!

I could only hope that a mod or other awesome Forum Ninja will see this and suggest it to Bungie. That is if Bungie isn't doing this already.
