"I blame canser its going slutting itself around now so are bodys act like were aging faster stupid whore of a desies" ~ GruntX
How many of you have read the Halo Novels? If you have, you may or may not have noticed a little bit of information about certain types of AIs (particularly in The Fall of Reach). You see, most of the Artificially Intelligent computer programs used by the UNSC are simply made up of lines of code (albeit self modifying lines of code). Seeing that these are only programs, they have no actual personality. In some cases though, an AI is created with the purpose of having a specific personality. Any Ideas on whome I am speaking of? Cortana of course! The way a personality is incorporated with the programming is simply (or perhaps not-so-simply) by using a human brain with a wet-ware connection. Now, the brain itself is not in the head of an actual human; for one specific reason. The average AI, endowed with a mind of it's own, will live...LIVE...to only about 7 years of age. That is, after a certain time consuming data, the AI will eventually destroy the brain it is using. I suppose you're asking: "How does this have anything to do with Master Cheif / MC / SPARTAN-117 / John?" Well, in case you didn't know. Cortana was chosen to be paired with MC. That means, after so many years of use, John will ultimately be killed by Cortana. Now, I don't want to frighten anybody, but it is a total possibility. The only pieces of data that might go against his death is:
A. Cortana was originally incorporated into a clone of Dr. Halsey's (mother of the SPARTANs) brain. Cortana could possibly still be using it.
B. Cortana often choses to leave the Cheif's Brain. This could either mean that she will deteriorate his brain tissue at a slower pace, or that she has quite possibly found a superior way of storing data while not lossing her own personality.
Whether or not Master Cheif dies, Cortana will. Depending on the distance between The Fall of Reach (Cortana is Created) and Halo 3 (???) this may somehow fit into the story. I can't see either character dieing from something so trivial (in H3) simply because I don't believe that enough time has passed for total annihilation of the brain to occur, but you might want to keep it in mind.
