Ok, we all know that the forerunners set off the Halos and destroyed themselves along with the flood to keep the galaxy from being run over.

Well, why are there still flood? If all life was destroyed, and the purpose of the Halos were accomplished, why do the flood still exist? Do the Halos not destroy what is actually ON them?

So that means that they destroy all sentient life, and the flood is unable to spread? Do the flood die?
If an entire galaxy was destroyed, wouldn't that mean their food source was depleted, and ta da... the end of the flood.?

some of them survived in some kind of stasis condition inside the Halos (like frozen or something). The rest sturved to death

When the Flood get really, really hungry they go into hibernation that can last as long as there's no food. When they detect food, they awaken from hibernation and attack.

no its from the game. in Halo CE Cortana says the covenent found something burried in the rings, the flood.

so i guess the flood is unstoppable? unless you go out and destroy every last one of them. which is just about imbossible.

So if they are unstoppable, the forerunners failed, and eventually the galaxy will be overrun.

The question your asking is the mystery. That's what is going to be solved in Halo 3, that's the big thing.

What made the Flood survive? What happened when the Forerunner's activated the rings, well, they died, but besides that. Where did we come from if the Halos had been activated?

Well at first I thought the rings destroyed everything in the universe, but then I realized its just in that galaxy, and the rings are far far from Earth, so I don't think their effect even came to our galaxy, since we had to slipspace to get there. I just wonder if its possible to finish off the flood for good.

We are? I thought they had to travel to an uncharted sector to find the Halo in 1.

"My knee is bleeding, can I have a bandaid?" "Today its your knee, and in 10 years it'll be your wrists, why are you making this my problem?"

Do this again and I'll brand your ass with the banning prod

All sentient lifeforms were destroyed by the Halo's, The Flood are parasitic. After the Halo's were fired, The flood went into stasis, and as you can see, they survived long enough untill food was plentifull again.

Been here 6 years, been blacklisted 6 times, that's why I'm not Mythic.

I'm not sure of the exact range, but all Halos activate at the same time and all senitent life within 100,000 Light years (?) of the Halos is killed, and no one knows wether Earth is in this range or not.

So what you gotta do is set off the rings, then go back to earth, then go BACK to the rings, and blow the rings up to finish off the flood.

Yeah apperantly some of you don't realize just how big a galaxy actually is. Think millions of solar systems, yeah.

Well still, I just don't get how we are going to finish off the flood including the Gravemind.

But I'm sure MC is up to it.
