Alright, I saw a few threads on the music of Halo, but I can't find them anymore. And I see all these thing s about how they should have all the bands do music. Here are my thoughts on such.
-There should be NO bands in Halo 3, let Marty do the music, you know why? Because rock bands and punk bands and even techno don't fit the game. I saw someone who wanted Taking Back Sunday and Angels and Airwaves in Halo 3.
Some people don't get the feeling of the game, they want to rock out to some hard core stuff while killing aliens, but do that on your own time. In the campaign I'm going to have my stereo cranked up as much as I can just to hear the layering of his music.
And when people say that the music in Halo 2 was bad, that's just an opinion, the music of Halo and music in general doesn't suck, it's just all an opinion. No one has superior taste in music, it's impossible.
Sure some bands are actually bad, because they're not good at what they do, but eventually there will someone who likes people that aren't good at their instruments, that's the way it works.
But as for Halo, I want to feel the ambience of the sounds, I still get shivers down my spine when listening to Ancient Machine. My favorite song on the Halo 2 album are The Great Journey and High Charity. You know why? Because they paint a picture in my mind.
The best songs paint pictures in your mind, like books. The Great Journey sounds like there is a battle, there is a great fanfare, a pinnacle of the struggle. High Charity is the wispy seemingly evanescent and fleeting image of something that is there and not there.
I see a holy place when I listen to that song. THOSE are the songs that make the game. The ambience and the images are just spectacular, there should be no bands in Halo, unless they fit the mood, but that is still borderline.
Again this is just my opinion, and I think that if I put it on a thread that's on page 16 or something I would get banned or whatever for bumping.
So please comment.
If you're going to be stupid, at least type correctly. For me.
I'd like to hear what people have to say about it.
