Hm...

You've got two very similar PCs here. Speaking nonbiased, though...I would go with the HP. The Dell, I've noticed, comes at a much higher price, disproportionate, seeing that it has nearly...no, seeing that it has exactly the same specs as the HP. The Dell offers upgradeable to 4.0 GB RAM, as well as a bigger hard drive. However, the price you listed I'm assuming is the base price, meaning that for that money, you'll possibly get a smaller HD and less RAM than the HP.

Since they're the same computer, it basically boils down to the cheaper cost, and the HP wins out here. Company brand differs not at all either; while Dell still reeks of cheapness and budget computers, HP is honestly, not much better, except not with the same reputation for cheapness as Dell.

IceCreamMan3, I don't know why you feel the need to attack a VERY respected member here, but I assure you. Your little menstrual frustrations will get you no where.

Right. Vista Capable means nothing. Both computers are, I say again, exactly the same. They are equally capable of handling Vista at full, I might add.

About your reply about the two notebooks, the XPS's base price is $2400,while the HP's is $1,049.99.Sorry to tell you about that.

I see. And like I said, since the specs are the same, you might as well go with the HP instead of the XPS. Save some money.

One last thing:I already have an account with Dell and won't have to pay for the XPS right there and now, just $28 a month with no interest. With the HP,it's $33 a month, and I don't have an account with them(but I do have an old HP from the 90's with Windows 95 on it).I know you will most likely say the Hp,but I just want to get yours and everyone's opinion on this.

Well,I think I'm gonna get the XPS.I know many of you said the HP,but I'm not very used to them,I don't have an account with them, which means I'll probably have to pay extra, and I'll won't be able to pay monthly. The XPS may be higher in price, but the DDR and stuff are better. The HP may have a better graphics card, but the better the graphics card, the higher, which means at least $500 and the HP's base price. The Hp's screen may be bigger(15 inch screen)while the XPS's screen is 12 inches, but I can cope with a 12 incher. The XPS is very light compared to the HP.The XPS is 4 pounds while the HP is 8,pretty heavy for a laptop.Anyway, I want to thank everyone who helped me out,so yeah....I'll tell ya when I get the laptop!
