Maybe that's what "Ghosts of Coral" will be about. Chief and the other spartans go to this planet "Coral" (I think we can safely assume it's a planet), the location of the traning of the (hypothetical) spartan 3's. Or I could be completely wrong. It's hard to judge by a title.
That's what I'm guessing since there is about a month in between First Strike, and Halo 2..

First Strike ends a week before Halo took place, due to the crystal ;)

It ends a week after Halo took place, but it looks like it ends before becuase of the crystal.

Also, Ackerson is "COALMINER", so we can easily assume he has access to the Crystal ("KINGUNDERTHEMOUNTAIN") that "bends" time and Space (Einstein's theory of Relativity)

I think it is much more likely that Ackerson is the one receiving the message, which would make him SURGEON. COALMINER was the one sending the message from the circumference, and maybe he stayed on Gamma Station to be rescued by John.
That doesn't really make sense though, since Ackerson had the "KingUndeTheMountain" file, along with the "S-III" file..

And the crystal is under the Menachite Mountain // ONI Base..so, wouldn't it be safe to assume he is "COALMINER" if he is the one digging (or ordering others to dig) under the mountain?

Wow, I can't believe that all the anti-Spartan people are away, now that the evidence actually points toward there being more..hehe.

I'm against having more Spartans in game. Not against the possibility of other Spartans being out there. *I* am the last Spartan and I don't want anyone stealing my thunder when *I* save the galaxy :)

Besides, it was bad enough when I had to run around with the invincible Miranda and Johnson. If I can't take a plasma grenade to the chest, why should they?

I couldn't imagine how horrible it would be if a squad of invincible spartans were assaulting my enemy. I could just go home and let them handle it. I'm obviously not needed because if I'm the only one that can die... then I'm obviously a liability and shouldn't be there.

If you wanna see an airplane cemetery, why don't you just find an old airplane and look at where it goes?

The fact that Miranda Keyes and Johnson are invincible is only for the gameplay because it would mess up the story if they died. They aren't really invincible according to the story (they just don't die), so you still need to fight.

More Spartans playing by your side (aside from the occasional large battle) would suck, and I agree. It would be wonderful having us talking to them during a mission (since we will not have Cortana, at least for part of the game) while they're doing their portion of the mission, on another point in the city // planet or something..

Spartans MAYBE -

In Halo 2 no mention of other Spartan activity was noted, but was never put down either...

Agreed, but there was a Spartan mentioned in the Halo 2 Booklet :: Conversations from the Universe, and also clues in Halo's campaign (on Pillar of Autumn) and Multiplayer.

[quote]More Spartans[/quote* Halo CE -- Hang 'Em High "Tombstones for Everyone"..matches up with the amount of MIA//KIA Spartans

i never knew that

I actually think that in CE when it says you are the last Spartan remaining it's saying that you are the last Spartan fighting the current battle against the Covenant.

Kind of like if 10 people are on and island and 9 die. Your the last one left, but actually there are billions of other humans, just not there.

Yes, it says that you were the last Spartan (never said alive, or on the PoA though) -- on "The Maw" it says Halo kills ALL life, rather than Sentient -- it was purely for the added factor of desperate survival.

Now, with all the facts of more Spartans out there, out-numbering the ONE time it said you were the last one..we can easily assume that that was one of those factors.

what were the multiplayer clues?

  • 07.19.2006 5:01 PM PDT

Before Halo: CE was released nobody could have anticipated that the Halo Universe would blow up to the size it did. Also, they probably didn't know that Halo and Bungie fans would analyze every letter in every word that has anything to do with Halo. In my opinion, the Halo: CE booklet simply contains some oversights that they didn't think would be taken as critically as they have.

Well, for one TL34 was a Spartan Clone Training Complex

Hang Em High's 68 Tombstones match up with the 68 MIA//KIA Spartans

Rat Race was most likely built by Ackerson...what other human would've built that thing, since they had Alpha Base.

Boarding Action? What other human ships were in-system? PoA was downed, but Ackerson was most likely there (Nylund even hinted at this)...

Yes they do, since Ackerson had the "S-III" (Spartan 3) file in his posession.

Also -- How does "Spartan Clone Training Complex" not point towards more Spartans?

I say there might be more Spartans, and I don't know why they haven't been in the other games, but they need to come out with more books to explain what the hell happened to KELLY!

  • 07.19.2006 5:18 PM PDT

Other Spartans have not been in the games because the parts of the Halo Universe that the games depict do not have any Spartans besides 117 in them.

Yes they do, since Ackerson had the "S-III" (Spartan 3) file in his possession.

Also -- How does "Spartan Clone Training Complex" not point towards more Spartans?
You know, in the past we have tried to avoid this, but it is inevitable. To tell the truth, I like to debate with you. You are intelligent and challenge my ideals, like a true Halo fan; I salute you.

"Yes they do, since Ackerson had the "S-III" (Spartan 3) file in his possession." Well this doesn't mean any more Spartans will be in the game. It doesn't even mean there are Spartan lll's at all, it just says that Ackerson plans to make newer Spartans in the books. It doesn't say that they failed or not, it doesn't even say they exist. If they do not exist, they cannot be in the game. We need more certified information to argue this point and come to a a conclusion, another book, not the Halo: Graphic Novel, the creators of that book need shot in the face. Where is the story? I WANT STORYLINE!

"Also -- How does "Spartan Clone Training Complex" not point towards more Spartans?" Because it doesn't. The Halo booklet said you were the last of your kind. This means there was more than one Spartan, and it proves that Chiron was a training facility for the Spartans that used to exist. It does not confirm or deny the existence of more Spartans. Hell, Hang 'Em High's tombstones don't even point to more Spartans, it could just be a tribute to them because they are dead, and Chief is the last of his kind.

I have been saying this since this argument began, and it still stands. Speculation proves speculation and also disproves speculation. To give this debate ANY purpose at all, we need solid evidence to go from.

:: Ackerson ::
Maybe I went a little far by saying that Ackerson being at Halo..but has anyone heard the quote by Nylund, that went a little like this :::

"Surveyed by who?" after someone asked how Threshold had a name since "No one" surveyed//ecountered them to have the name "Threshhold" or "Basis" on file..

It was confirmed that the "second batch of Spartans" was being made -- which is why Mendez left John and his Spartans. To train the new ones..

The first Spartans were regular Soldiers (Some people even think Mendez or even Johnson were S-Is..who better to train a Spartan, than a Spartan..and Johnson is just plain badass.), without the amplified MJOLNIR armor, and none of the Spartan IIs were cloned fighters, so one can easily assume that "Spartan Clone" is referring to the SPartan IIIs.

Didn't Ackerson both get the Spartans' DNA, and have a project "on par with her (Halsey's) Spartan Project"

::HEH And TL34::
68+7=Number of known Spartans..so long as they are MIA/KIA.WIA (So Cassandra, James, Kelly are not necessarily dead)

1. Chief
2. Fred
3. Will
4. Linda
5. Unnamed
6. Unnamed
7. Previously Unnamed, but it is -062 from HGN

Would "solid evidence" mean the image of a Spartan on the level Pillar of Autumn? It's not the Chief's since ther'e two Cryo Chambers..Linda was in Cryo at the ed of FoR. Or the Spartan in "Conversations from the Universe", which came with Halo 2..

Also, the HCE booklet thing could've easily just been for a dramatic effect, much like how it sometimes states Halo will kill everything, rather than just Sentient life.

This is also in the Halo: CE booklet:

Existing Spartan II soldiers are recalled to Reach for further augmentation.

Master Chief could be the last of his kind, un-augmented Spartan II's.

The Halo 1 booklet states that you're the last Spartan, but it could have just said that to give emphasis on your importance in the game (like how the description of The Maw states that Halo will destroy all life in the universe, when really it will only destroy all sentient life in the galaxy).

I think they wanted you to think he was the last spartan until the "first strike" book came out. That book revealed the suprise that some of the spartans survived.
