Ok...we've all contributed our endless ideas for what we would like to see in Halo 3. But, what do you not want to see in Halo 3. What would disappoint you the most if you found "this'' in Halo 3.

Official Xbox Magazine published an article of what they felt shouldn't be in Halo 3. What do you think of their ideas?

OXM's comments:

The Flood
Seriously, this ubiquitous popcorn-horde of foes could use a break. On our second and third play-throughs of Halo 2, we just ran past them. Unless they have something to offer to the story in a major way (like one of them delivering an introspective moonlit soliloquy on the purpose of humanity), they'd be better-served playing shuffleboard on vacation from the Halo universe for the third chapter.

My Comments:

I personally kind-of agree with this. The Flood horde is a bit played out. I know what your thinking, "The Flood is a huge part of the story, we can't just take them out." Well, they don't have to be taken out of the story, just a reduction in game-play involving The Flood, keep them more of a cinematic feature. One of the things that makes Halo such a great game is getting tactical in battle, something you don't do when battling The Flood, it's just empty out your ammo inventory at first sight.

OXM Comments:

Playable Arbiter
Really, we do have a soft spot for Mr. Arby in Halo 2: his/its role in the game filled a very fleshed-out part of the Halo universe. Our problem was that the game concluded with you in control of him instead of the almighty Senor Chief [Master Chief]. And the Master Cheif is just too cool a dude to take second chair to absolutlely anyone else - even the sword-slinging, exo-skeletal Arby.

My Comments:

I also agree with this. The Arbiter was "ok cool." Again, you're probably thinking, "the Arbiter is too involved in the story to exclude him." Yes, yes that's true, but once again he doesn't need to be excluded from the story; just the game-play, the Arbiter's story can be told through cinematics as well. There was something about playing as MC all the way through the game in Halo: CE. You felt a connection, like you were the one behind the mask. I think that's one of the things we felt amiss moving from Halo: CE to Halo 2. Let's bring that feeling back in Halo 3.

So, I know there has gotta be things that you just couldn't stand to see in the next installment of Halo. What are they? Please reply.

If you want to know what people dont want in Halo 3 just take into consideration what people are not saying they want. This is a sad attempt to create a unique and popular thread.

How about we keep the Arbiter in but we make seperate campaigns. One follows MC and the other follows the Arbiter. This way you don't have to play one if you don't want to but we all have the choice to. Of course this would provide storyline problems... but I want to play the Arbiter.

Yes, they interlaced Dervish and John-117's levels in Halo 2 much like a book would. That was good, it would be quite odd otherwise.

Actually, that's not the goal. Think about it. The forums are created for discussion, but also a source of input for Bungie game development. If there is a general idea of what people disliked about previous games or things that they might be considering to put into Halo 3. This allows an outlet for things that players would find disappointment in when the game is finally recieved.

There is nothing sad about this topic. What's sad is the attempt you're making to kill a thread. If you are not going to make a positive contribution to the forums, why are you even here.

Why is that?

I'd love to be a 10 year old and tell my mom I'm going on an adventure out into the world catching Pokemon, with her full support. Never mind the fact that there are rapists, criminals, and murders out there, or the fact that I may get killed by a Pokemon.

Luckily I have Pikachu.

I disagree. The flood are a major part of the story, and they are fun to fight. I enjoy fightint the flood as much as I do the covenant.

I disagree here. The arbiter is a major part of the story and needs to be kept in. He allows us to see parts of the story that we would not get if we only played as John. Also, I find him a more interesting Character than John.

Get rid of everything that was in Halo 2 besides The Arbiter, XBL, and the sword. Wait, yeah, take the sword away. I'm sick and tired of all the sword whores who just follow you or TK you for a stupid simple weapon.
