Okay, here's my idea for Pelicans in Halo 3. They should be in Campaign and Multiplayer, but, in campaign, use them like they were in the first game. When you're actually inside them, and you could press X to enter the side seat. And have them in Multiplayer, and possible have them pilotable by players.

I mean, so many people are saying "I WANT PELICANS!!!" but they don't really fit into campaign, but they could be usseable in multiplayer, right?

To unbalanced. Would be cool for Multiplayer games when the teams first get dropped. And if they have group respawning.

Pelican's in multiplayer would, in my opinion, make the game too vehicle based. And maps that big, that would require the use of pelicans would be no fun without them, and I do not want pelicans to be the cornerstone of a map.

Halo IS already a vehicle based FPS. It is the MOST vehicle based FPS right now. Im sorry, but adding 1 more vehicle wont make it any more or less vehicle based than it already is, especially not the pelican. You cant snipe from it, you cant shoot rockets and destroy vehicles with it.

All it is is an alternate transport to the Warthog. A heavy transport with a less battle oriented puropose.

Not really, a Pelican is a large vehicle. People are talking about large maps that are so large they require air transport. They want these maps to facilitate to the needs of the pelican. I think that this is absurd. A transport ship is unneeded. Not to mention how little it would be used effectively. Imagine trying to get the thing off the ground with all the people fighting over who get to fly the bird. A pelican is on a different scale then a warthog. Halo is not very vehicle based if you look at it right now. The most popular map, or the one most played is Lockout which has no vehicles. The other maps are small enought to beableto walk across but if you neeed a pelican to get around then it is pointless, becasue old fashoned ground battle are what make this game halo. And if it isn't big enough to need pelican to get around then people will never use the pelican, making it a no go for multiplayer.

Yeah, but just because the map is large enough to accomidate the tactical use of a Pelican certainly doesn't mean that the Pelican is your only means of transportation. Just means, your fastest.

This one goes to eleven.

Yes but I don't want to need transport. Halo is not about vehicles. Nearly all the large maps in Halo 2 are never played because nobody wants to use a hog merely to get to the other side. The vehicle currently that people use are generally for fighting not transportation. Also coordinaion is a large flaw with many Halo players. I can see too many difficulties getting a full crew for a pelican. It is not needed in the game to make it good, or better and will just leed to more problems for people that aren't rich and get lag. Something that size willcreate large lag. It is a great idea for single player, but player fanticies of using it in multiplayer is ludicris and the idea is only entertainable within your heads. I leave you with that as I am off to bed.

I think a pelican in multiplayer would be cool because it is boring walking across th battlefield especially when all the vehicles r gone u need a new means of transport.

flying to your enimies base.in your peli thats loaded to the brim with 15 guys and a tank. you drop em off and fly back halfway across the area and wait for their call back. you come to a big battle guns blazin and one of your guys alive with thr flag. he gets in gets a hold the automated turret on the back he starts shooting like mad while you fly back home while suddenly a phantom flys up in front of you. your charging at each other you fly up at the last minute.you drop your friend on top of it he charges in with an energy sword slits his throat an takes it and flys it back to your base while unknowing to you theyre hopping in thier shadow and charging to your base ready for revenge.

I think a Pelican wouuld be great but yes when Halo 3 first came out everyone would use it. But after a while less and less people would.

Love you Bungie!
Still playing Halo1 Custom Edition!

well, i want more of them in campaings, and halo CE made it well. the problem, with halo 2, is that they made 2 missions with one

outskirts and newmombassa should have been one mission

arbiter/oracle too

delta halo/regret

floodwall and QZ

gravemind/high charity should have made only one

uprising/great journey should also have been one

see, now if thye would have all been merged, the camaping would have lasted half less so now we have a new problem, we need more content. halo 2 was too fast paced everything you do in camaping and multiplayer is always aiming on a fast fight quick dead short live short action you get what i'm saying? and the levels we could have been in a pelican always ended up in a crash or a cinematic (outskirt, arbiter,DH,floodwall)

and for multi, haklo IS vehicle based, in camaping you use banshees, hogs tanks.. vehicles are always options. if they create a map about the scale of containment but maybe a little bigger than a retrictive pelican would be very cool and by restrictive i mean you cant jump off it when it's 900 feets around the ground. the only weapon the pelican has is machine guns 1 rear and 1 front. it can hold a regular pelican's load( actualy most of the team)

1pilot
1co pilot
1 rear gunner
5left seat
5right seat
1 scorpion or hog
0 aparition/specter/ghost

see it would be cool and if people cannot drop off without dying, then to make a succesful attack you've got to make it in their base, alive and be able to land or be about 10 feets above the ground, atmost.

pelicans are a good idea to have in multiplayer, it would be hard to make a part of the game to put it in, but i reckon it would be worth it in the end, especially to hear the screams of anger coming out of the passengers mouths as they realise ive just shot the pilots and theyre going down

Yeah I think that would be cool to have a pelican in the multiplayer of H3, but would you like that or a shadow in the multiplayer? I think that the pelican would make it more air-based and the shadow would be more land-based games, what do you think?

It would work for team-based objective games, instead of respawns, pelicans would fly in and drop you off (and they could provide covering fire withe the chain gun)

Well if you play the map Hugeass for Halo pc there are pelicans and they seems to work well but it was not fun because the map was way too big so more players would be needed

it would be awesome if it could carry a warthog like in the first one and drop them off when needed even if one of your teamates couldn't drive it maybe you could call in for a drop ship when your grabing a flag

1: The Pelican is already in the game, and is more than likely going to be pilotable in Halo 3 due to popular demand.

2: Phantoms as well!

3: The Pilot shoud be responable only for flying, and other team members should man the guns (like the warthog).
