If he does get killed Chuck Norris could replace him.

Chuck Norris is an ancestor of John-117 [sarcasm]

Wow, it's pretty pathetic how people think of a good hero and person to be a lusty, handsome young man, with overly active sex drive, flowing hair, and a bunch of nice cars. The Master Chief goes through so much in his mind, I meen, the guy had NO childhood, NO happiness basicly, and NO parents, because they replaced him in the family with some clone. How would you feel if that happend, and oh, you have to save the world now because all your only friends have died horribly, and you have all this pressure on you. He deals with ALL this -blam!-, and still performs perfectly and like a true warrior in combat, yes he does have augmentations and a badass suit, but that just adds to the sorrow in his life. Even if he were to get a women, things would be difficult with all those augmentations, and he wouldn't have much sex appeal. That Master Chief has A LOT of character, he lives a life of bloodshed, but no tears, because he's man enough to deal with all of the crap. He's sort of like a gladiator, or an actual Spatan, taken away from his family, and forced to fight and not live a normal life, and doesn't get that much recognition. All in all, he is one of the best characters I have come across, and is the least stereotypical hero I have had the pleasure to play as.

"Hang on a sec, let me reload my mind bullets."

1.) Pointless question, since knowing anyone's favorite food doesn't make them any more or less endearing to you.

2.) The ones that he is ordered to hate, he basically lives what the military wants him too.

3.) He knows almost nothing about his true parents, and they have forgotten about him. Gamewise he seems to only "respect" people due to their position, but it seems he has something more then just "respect" for Dr. Hasley.

4.) Get your facts straight. No Spartan takes drugs to suppress their -blam!- drive. It was part of their "agumentation" that the scientists tweaked their hormones to prevent that factor from becoming too prevailent in their lives. No one is sure if it's completely dead or just suppressed, but again does it really matter?

5.) What is know about him in the game? You're right, not much. But when he's first introduced in Halo CE, he is a lone wolf, a single survivor of a super race of soldiers, and he is immediatly awoken and thrown into combat. If anything I feel a sort of "commradery" with him, since he's basically fighting for his life and trying to do his best to protect some grand idea, the safety of humans and earth. It's true that replacing him with another person would not fundamentally change gameplay by any means, most people grew attached to how he struggled through the Covenant army, flood hoard, and such things that probably would make a normal person like you or I cringe or would simply kill us. You don't have to love him at all, and no one ever said you had to love a character to enjoy the game they star in, but Bungie has set things up to make MC the protagonist for the game so we'll have to deal with it.

Standing Ovation! Seriously!

Although the whole thing about him getting a girl is far out there, it is not impossible because some appeal is based on pheromones and the fact that the Spartan augmentations have that sort of side effects that could happen (not 100% likely)... but I think as a warrior he just doesn't care.

I would like to see the man, who has known nothing but suffering and death, try to put his gun down and live a life without war. Captain Keyes had said that if there was no war to fight, no one won or lost.

Because people have gotten accustomed to him. He is the leader of all the other spartans and the luckiest.

I think he was the most developed out of all the SPARTANs and I think he should live.

plus Bungie already said there aren't going to be any other spartans.

MAster Chief has a s3x drive, if you bought the collectors editon of H2 then you would see a letter from MC's girlfriend, its toward the end of stroy book thing.

The creator of the thread forgets that MC is actually the best spartan there is, Kelly would be my vote of the 2nd best spartan. Since Sam died in "The Fall of Reach"

The "character development" for the Masterchief amounts to tough guy clichés', grunts, cries of pain, and shooting a multitude of weapons at an alien horde. Why would it matter if he was killed off in H3 right at the start? He could be replaced with Spartan Will (my personal preference), Nicole, or BillyBobJoe. It wouldn't make a difference to the game play, and that's what it's all about, right?

I am curious as to how some people can have any kind of emotional attachment to a character that is so poorly developed as a person. In truth, as a Spartan, isn't he less than a person? More of a robotic killing machine made from bone, muscle, and sinew? He doesn't even have a s3x drive for goodness sake?! Spartan Nicole, Will, or Sir Edward Higglesworth III could save the world just as well and provide the same game play experience.

You havent read the halo 2 novels have you? So shutup, cheif has alot of devloupment as a character in the books which are part of the game.

MC isn't the best Spartan(well, now he might be an all-around kicker of asses), but he is the luckiest.

I look at it this way i've got good friends who i've known for a long time who just don't talk about allot of stuff because it's just too painful or they just don't want to talk about it, it doesn't make tham any lesser of a friend just because you don't know if he likes peas or not, just spending time with him, and seeing how he makes decisions and resolves problems is enough. This is the same case with the Master Chief we may not know what his favorite food is but he is just great because of what he has done, hello actions speak louder thatn WORDS, they also define us.
