Now, I don't post here often because of idiots like you, but I'll be willing to prove you wrong for this.
Yeah, becuase with the PS3, good old Ken K of Sony said I'm paying for potential . Not something I wanna pay for, I wanna pay for a gaming console, not a computer. The PS3 can be upgraded like a PC (and if I wanted to shell out that kind of money, wouldn't I buy a gaming PC anyway?). And Sony is only pushing the PS3 mainly as a Blu ray player, and seeing as Blu ray movies will cost $40 (keep in mind, that same $40 I can get a DVD copy with the same content).
With at $600 price point, too (for everything, I can't upgrade the $500 one to include HDMI support), as well as already planned shortages and a year loss to the 360 and the Wii being more consumer friendly ($250 or less, compared to the $600, full version PS3) won't help it in the States. How can a shortage be proven? By looking at the yield rates for the cell processor used in the PS3, as shown
] here .
So, you've got on next gen system that costs $600, where you can buy a 360 AND a Wii for the SAME price, if not lower (depending on Nintendo's prices and what 360 bundle you get). IS it REALLY worth having all that technology in there? Blu ray and blutooth and all that? Most people have no idea what those are or even mean.
Next is Sony says WE, the gamers , are pushing for Blu ray. We want GAMES, not discs with capacities we'll not fill anytime soon. Hell, most games right now don't even go as far as DVD9, why do we want a game the size of 25-50GB? What's the point? So, we're paying for something that we may or may not want. And keep in mind, not a whole lot of people have HD sets, so that further cripples the use of Blu ray.
And who else, other than Sony, has released their own working Blu ray player? The problem is, Sony doesn't even have a STAND ALONE player working, yet one for the PS3. They're having problems with copy protection . Why so late? The PS3 launch isn't that far away, and they have YET to get copy protection.
On top of all this, when even a Sony FAN gets upset because of all the bad news and media it gets, that's when it gets real bad. Do I need to go on further?

Added Potential Quote
Sony also has said that the Xbox 360 (hell, lets include even the old Xbox for this) cannot do e-distribution. But, then again, look at Halo 2, MechAssualt, Perfect Dark Zero, Dead or Alive 4 and COUNTLESS other games. But somehow, Sony's idea is better, yet couldn't happen on either the last Xbox or the 360?
What company has to point fingers and say "They copied me!" ? Sony, of course . Somehow, that strikes me as odd. Sony took the Wii's innovation and essentially took it, yet it was blanketed by not being as advanced as the Wii's controller.
