It depends on how much ping you have. The less ping you have, the less farther you need to lead.

yea it depends on comp speed and how fast your prey is going;be it running or hog driving, dont forget how fast your hand is/index finger/or how sensitive your mouse is

Here you will need this to help you get your foot out of the back of your throat, looks llike its in there pretty deep. And what is that on your face? Egg?! *hands Kim a washcloth*

there is no answer to your question. there are many variables to be considered: your latency(ping) the distance away from you, and the phase of the moon. basically it comes down to just doing it. shoot once and see where it ends up. you will eventually get better at judging where to aim.

it doesn't depend on your comp speed. This is the way it works:

Now, if you have played halo xbox you will know there is a tiny bit of inbuilt lead, remember that first. Okay, lead is actually measured in time so what you have to do is figure out the distance a player will travel in the given time that is equal to you lead PLUS the inbuilt lead and there you have where to shoot. Play on unmodded paid servers to get better.

Haha, listen to that piece of advice. It just takes practice that's all.

Yes. It all depends on your ping, how they're moving, and how you're moving. You have to be able to predict where they are going to be when your bullet gets to them. Remember also, that leading is not only horizontal, but also vertical. Basically, like the other guy said, there is a small built in "lead", and you have to add that to how much you're leading due to latency.

What? Play a game? FOR FUN???
This concept of fun confuses and infuriates me!

I've heard rumors that HPC has a smidgen of a auto aim built into it, but I've never seen proof of it.
Just aim to a bit of a distance away from the person, and take the shot. Make sure to move around if you are in a hiding spot so not to give away your position.
Also, if you ever get into a sniper fight, always strafe side to side, so you are harder to hit.

I think that there might be some truth in those rumors. Occasionally I host a game of no shields-human CTF on Blood Gulch, which you guys should try out sometime, and I notice that when my pistol's cross hair isn't exactly over my target's head, and I fire my gun, I get a headshot.

You also notice that the pistol's shot is not straight, but it goes into different directions every time you shoot.

Argh, the only time I can snipe people is when I'm lucky or when they're holding still and unaware of my location.....or they're a bigger noob than me.....

Kim, um, there's a thread you might want to check out just a tad above this one......go hard on the idiot for the rest of us.

yes there is auto aim in halo pc, try killing a team mate with the pistol, or try aiming slightly above someone.

The pistol only gets less accurate if you hold down fire, press it time and time again for greater accuracy.

Leading is a little hard to get used to but now I'm so used to it I have a hard on the sniper training map for CE where you don't need to lead much at all.
