NOTE: This is only the beginning portion of a long and epic storyline OPINIONS ARE WELCOME
"Marines, I will not lie to you, the city is crawling with Covenant. You and 100 of your fellow Marines and a few generous Spartans will be dropped by a squad of Pelicans and will ride in on Warthogs. Their you will break through the wall and find the set of captured Marines and call in for evacuation." The Sargaent yells. his musty voice trills in the dirty air. Inside a bunker, about 150 km from the target point. They listen to the Sargaent as he executes our sure suidicdal mission. "Their are 2 levels to this city, their are Scarabs, their are Phantoms and their are Covenant. The city has been under Covenant control for weeks now, and you lucky sons of -blam!-es are lucky enough to destroy every last Covenant in the city." The Sargaent gives the 3 Spartans a look and they obey and walk up the stairs into the purple and black twilight sky. As the Sarganet finished up with our mission specs. He orders us outside to await the arrival for the Pelicans.
As I step outside, I look at the top of the SMG, and imagine if I will still have an arm to hold this gun after the battle. The air is musty and dirty. Looking at the horizon, all the Marines can see the burning city, and can imagine the Covenant ripping everyone apart. The sky is a mix of purple and black, the way I've never seen the sky look before. As the 10 sets of Pelicans fly in on the base site, we all file in. Guts nervous and hopes shot.
About 25 minutes later, the Pelican driver orders us that we will have to go the rest of the way on Warthogs. I take the Gunner position and then watch 2 other Marines i've never seen take the 2 other spots. By now the Marines can see the wall, and the burning city over looking it. As soon as we take land, 3 Phantoms zoom over us, shooting the Warthogs with their turrets, killing one of the Marines sitting shotgun.
As we fire on the Phantoms with the Warthog turrets and Gauss turrets. As I tae aim, I shoot the middle tail wing off and watches as the Phantom sways and crashes into the theird Phantom. As we continue to open fire, the Gauess gun shoots a Phantom out of the air. As it sways back and forth. It falls back and crashes into the Warthog next to me and I watch as the explosion takes the Marines, and Covenants lives. After the destruction of one Phantom, the other 3, drop their Brutes and zoom off to the city. As I take aim and shoot the Brute off my warthog, the driver bumps over the carcass and almost tips us over.
The wall is surrounded. Hunters, turrets, Elites and Grunts. The 17 surviving warthogs make roadkill out of the Grunts and deplete the Elites sheild in a matter of seconds. Some of the Marines file out of the Warthogs while others stay in providing backup. I take out one of the Hunters, but am not fast enough to kill the other that smashes a Marine into my window. The Marines file up the ladders and destroy the turrets. A Brute throws a Marine into a Warthog and then gets crushed by a volley of Gatling bullets.
We dispose of the Brutes and then file out of the Warthogs. Battle Rifles, Rcoket Launchers, SMG and pistols, and some occasional Covenant weapons that the rest of the Marines picked up. Out of the corner of my eye, I see 2 jackals crawl out of a citadel and shoot straight through a Marines head. The Marines open fire and reluctantly, the Jackals only take 3 Marines lives.
I step in the Hunter's orange blood and wipe my boot off the Warthog bumper. A Spartan takes a Rocket Launcher of a dead Marine and shoots the huge wooden door, but not avail. After another 2 shots the door wont budge. As we look around the wall we see stair leading up over the wall. 2 sets of the Marines take seperate sies of the wall. As each Marine looks over the wall, the sight is breath taking. The city is on fire, the buldings burning down, the Marines and Spartans fending off the Covenant and the Scarabs. Buldings crumbling, plasma flying though the air. It is indeed a terrifying sight.
Out of nowhere, a Scarab curls around a burning building, it's gun opening up. As the Marines stare at the Scarb, we all panic and file down the stairs. But iot is indeed too late. The Scarabs' gun goes through the wall destroying the rocks and granite upholding the wal.. Sending marines and rocks flying through the air. As we take cover against the wall, we stair at the crumbling wall and dead bodies near us. This is indeed a suicide mission. Good thing we have a Spartan. Spartan 117.
