AI of Halo 1, it seemed as if each elite you faced played like it was ranked.
The Minor Elites (Blue), the veteran Elites (Red), Special OPs (Black), Zealot's (Gold) all were differently skilled, fired more aggresively and seemed realistic in facing higher ranked members of an army. Not all realistic but it was great at the time.
Now in Halo 2, it felt all of the enemies you faced just had a higher shield, more life then rather then different enemies having a certain amount of skill and the amount of ease to take down a Zealot or the so-called "Honor Guards" was laughable.
In Halo 3, i'd want to see the lower ranked enemies miss a few shots, act like inexperianced soldiers, and the experianced soldiers using stealth (Not crouching in the middle of the street when protecting the marnies on Outskirts) and make you think in Halo 3, "Oh -blam!-, another Zealot..." and I know we probably won't be fighting the Elites... But with honour guard Brutes...
Brutes, are known to be stupid and crazy ETC. Why not make some very agressive in shooting, but not very good shots.
Same with our own Marines, the Privates to not be as good shots, maybe trying to play "hero" and the more trained marnies who have seen some battle to be better shots.
I really don't want to see the AI standing still and shooting. Espically when you have moved, still standing there and shooting where you last were. I want them to chase you down, regroup, flush you out with 'nades. ETC.
Now, on another frustration of Halo 2 was to wack a Grunt in the face to not kill it.
Hang on, aren't you a 1000 ton cyborg, who is as strong as an Elite and you kill a grunt in one melee. Lame.
Even more frustrating when you are the Arbiter, but lets give the low-down of the Arbiter, ex-Zealot and the commander of the fleet of Halo. Shouldn't he a be a killing beast?
Not really, his strength suddenly must of left him when having the mark of shame burned on him, his Elite counterparts can now suddenly kill any other creature (except the Flood) in one hit, however the Arbiter must hit them countless times.
Whilst on the subject of the Arbiter, isn't his armour supposed to be very old? How come it's shield recharges better then any other Elite's armour?
The amount of power the sword has when the enemy uses is, kills you in one hit.
However when you use it, you must lunge at an enemy, sometimes the enemy will not even die at full health. Always aganist a Brute. Isn't this supposed to be a bad-ass super hot plasma sword that can cut through any kind of metal? But not through a Brute's flesh? But when another Elite uses a sword, slash, dead, easy.
What about a different range of weapons enemies use. Rather then Grunts using the plasma pistol and needlers, why not the plasma rifle, or now as they are probably are allies in Halo 3, SMG's or Pistol's?
Elites, should use the Carbine more and more Elite snipers and the Fuel Rod Gun, why not?
Jackal's should use more Plasma Rifles. I think that could make the Jackals a force to be feared if they use Plasma Rifles in Halo 2.
I hope for the final game in the trilogy of the best-selling gaming series. Will be the greatest game of this, new generation of gaming. Like it dominated last generation. Hopefully we will face next-generation AI, and more realism with how each creature uses a weapon, in different ranks.
I'd like to hear you opinions on this matter.
