I know many people on the forum can't afford a 360 but you better figure something out. While I don't have a link I heard a rumor that Hillary C. might TAX video games. How much would that draw up the price of...oh say... Halo 3. Who going to be able to still afford a $60+ game if this is true and passes?

  • 07.21.2006 12:00 PM PDT

ummm i would.... i dont care if halo 3 costs 200$ id still buy it...

A video game tax? Unlikely... If they were going to tax them then they'd need to tax every other form of entertainment, it is highly unorthodox to do this. Besides, this is a "RUMOR", and a bad one at that.

Amen Tanmaker!

anyways, Halo 3 is already gonna have tax. so its gonna be around 55 to 65 dollars depending on where you are.

  • 07.21.2006 12:18 PM PDT

What I hope is that there is enough copies for everyone at release. Remember the whole XBOX 360 fiasco. All that hype and then poof! Sold out! Yes I do remember the lines for H2's release. This game will sell so well you could post it in Village Pantries and Quick Marts. OK Maybe not, but I havn't pre-ordered so I hope I don't have to wait.

I doubt a bill like that would pass. Then they'd have to go after the movie industry, and you know Hollywood wouldn't allow that....

  • 07.21.2006 12:33 PM PDT

Or just that anxious to play. Its what supply and demand are. How much is that early playing experiance worth. To some, it may be worth $200.

  • 07.21.2006 12:35 PM PDT

The tax of a video game has nothing to do with buying the console. And for everyone who doesn't have a 360: don't worry about it yet, there is still plenty of time to get one.

Doc: "i'm a pacifist"
Caboose: "your a thing that babies suck on?"
Tucker: "no dude, that's a pedephile"
Church: "tucker, i think he means a pacifier"

no way i would pay over $65 for it. unless it was a special edition. and in regards to the pre-order comments i hope that the gamestop near my house works out something better than their halo 2 distribution because that was 4 hours of uselessness when it could have been taken care of in about 2.

i didn't realize that a price had been set. gamestop told me that they can't do preorders until a confirmed price and approx. launch date had been set. or is this website just guessing?

That would never pass in the smallest form. They would have to increase the taxes on movies as well plus the fact that it would be blatant discrimination against video games.

Your better off buying a 360 now because of the title wave of great games coming very soon.

If you pay 40 pounds for something in England thats like 65-70 american dollars. England has got to be the most expensive place on the planet. I went through there once on vacation and a 5 minute taxi was like 100$ (american) and I got something to drink 3.50$ (american), what a rip.

as alot of the play.com 360 games are priced at £39.99 i am guessing that should be the fixed price for HALO 3 unless bungie give orders to sell at the retail price of £49.99 but a good choice is play.com to buy your games they discount almost everything

I get all my 360 games from them.

it's not the most expensive place on the planet, it's just that the money there is worth more than the money in the US. actually if i'm not mistaken the english pound holds one of, if not the highest values in the world market.

your missing this little thing called CURRENCY EXCHANGE. 1 american dollar does not equal 1 british pound.

and if you actually think you can buy 360 games anywhere in the US (new) for less then 60 bucks, good luck.
