I thought this would be an intersting gametype, but I'm sorry if this has been posted before.

You know, space battles. Like you can get into longswords and seraphs and duke it out between ship with plasma cannons and MAC guns. Or, fight onboard stations, and try to place a bomb on stations. Assult with a twist. Or, a covie fleet can try to destroy several UNSC stations (Teams: Elites vs SPARTANs, each start out with respective weapons) and vice versa.

The only cons I can think of is the enormous processing power it would take to have huge teams of players spread across several ships and stations, and to render the space battle taking place outside. But hey, this is the 360.

This isn't Unreal Tournament 2004. This is Halo. Huge difference. I'm not sure if you noticed.

Space Battles in Cinemation...Yes.

MC Commanding a Halcyon class Battle Cruiser...No.

MC is a Marine, not a Pilot.

Technically, the Marines are a Semi-branch of the Navy. But it is irrelevant...he is a foot soldier trained to fight on land...

But if he Earth's last hope... then you know what... they might just let him into a jet. If he could save my a$$, then I would gladly let him do what ever he wanted... but ya... I don't think space battles will happen though.

It isn't a jet...They are Spacecraft's just to let you know. Some of them have Fusion Reacter Engines...others just have really good engines that can't achieve "Warp" in Star Trek terminology.

It takes a crew of approx. Twenty to fly the Autumn...even with the fighter craft, Cortana had to drive that one.

Master Chief Petty Officers do not fly ships. (Or in a modern situation, drive ships)

The MC is trained to operate every vehicle in the UNSC arsenal including insterstellar craft, he is quite capable of flying a cruiser, and i would love to have space battles... but somehow i just dont see bungie actually doing it?

I don't see Bungie doing it for one sole reason:

I personally believe that to do space battles, the perspective of the player would have to change, and personally I don't want a Star Wars like game. Where you fly around and shoot stuff. I want close niche, combat.

Why not let us Fly ships and battle if not through space atleast on the maps, battlefield 2 has the right idea when it comes to flying, and would make halo 3 a even better game being able to fly a pelican

Do you want this to be Battelfield Halo or Halo: Modern Combat?

Personally, it isn't the style and type of thing that belongs there. The MC is capable of doing those things, but his abilities and services better suits ground/infantry tactics.

Thinking of something witty to write here since 2004...

He can fly a banshee so why can't he fly longsword's, pelicans etc. Spartans are the ultimate soldiers so shouldn't they be trained in all aspects and forms of combat?
