Now ive gotten farther on the shiny patch thanks to t3heford.
Its the patch where it makes things shiny the AR the longsword the halo ring all that. Now Ive gotten to the point where it says: "Patch successfully applied, burn image to CD now!" After I saw that I went on to halo and didnt see any changes. What do I do after I get that window?

OK, I can do this.

download the PPF

open PPF-O-MATIC

in the space that says the source file (the PPF) add the PPF.

destination file I think is the BITMAPS.MAP file, I didn't check.

apply the PPF to the MAP file

Done, bask in pixel shader glory you lucky person, you.

Make sure you did everything correctly:

Step 1: Start up the PPF-O-Matic application and switch the "Files of Type" from "CD Images" to "All Files" for the ISO file.

Step 2: For the ISO file slot go to your maps folder in your Halo directory and select the bitmaps.map file in the maps folder, which by default is C:/Program Files/Microsoft Games/Halo/maps/bitmaps.map.

Step 3: For the patch, select restoredbitmaps.ppf file from your Restored Shaders mod that you extracted from WinRAR.

Step 4: Now hit "Apply" and everything should be done correctly.

Now, if this doesn't work, and you've followed all the instructions correctly, then there is only one logical conclusion. Your graphics card is not leet enough to handle the shiny graphics mod. Have a good day, and please never mention of this ever again.

If the window says "The patch is applied and it's ready to burn!' or something like that, it's okay, it worked.

Maybe you're not looking hard enough. Maybe you're not noticing it. If you did those exact steps, it will work.

well, there is your problem, you have a geforce 4 mx. it's not even a directx 8 card, let alone a dx9.

What are you talking about? These are my specs for direct x.
From system options: DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c

DC Spartan, thanks for wasting our time. I told you it was not necessary to post this thread. It doesn't matter if you have DX9.c if your hardware doesn't support it. You can have the latest version of DX9 installed even if you don't have a DX9 card.

That's somewhat irrelevant anyhow, as it clearly states that this mod can only work for cards that support shaders. You have a crappy GeForce 440 which is no better than most integrated chipsets for gaming.
