"I pledge to punch all switches, to never shoot where I could use grenades, to admit the existence of no level except Total Carnage, to never use caps lock as my "run" key, and to never, ever, leave a single BoB alive."

2B || !2B - Why don't you look Inside the Machine?

Halo 3 is an FPS, not a Puzzle game where you get candy for opening or blowing open a secret door to horde the contents inside like other games are.

that which is not dead can eternal lie, but with strange aeons even death may die.

well, there is the rumor of the little door in coag were if you shoot it for 4 hours straight is opens to terminal, and you see the guardian...and something like that...but I like you idea..

Okay...so it isn't limited to a genre...but it doesn't fit the Gameplay or Style of Halo 3...

Grenades would not be practical for bringing down a wall. Rockets and Tank Shells would.

No I quite literally meant Halo 3...why would you develop a game around an entirely new concept and gameplay/style rather than build upon the same gameplay/style as well as plot. Halo is a Series...by altering one of the games, you could potentially change the Series for the worst. So I still say no...it would ruin the game.

just imagine.... the chief blows a hole in the wall n him and a group of elites sneak up from behind and ambush a bunch of brutes... talk about major ownage

I am not saying that blowing up stuff, and taking out entire sections of walls wouldn't be cool...but just the entire idea and reasoning behind why you should do it...

You should take out a wall because there are "powerups" behind it, but just because you simply can.

GT=ChiloPilo

Blowing through stone, rock, or earth.
Alot of thing in the Halo universe are made out of metal, which could just dent.
That way they could keep it to a minimum.

I think that it would be cool if structures got damaged when hit by a rocket, tank shell etc. like a piece of the wall comes off, F.E.A.R. style. Or when driving the tank and you hit something fragile, like the pillars in delta halo, and it breaks. No dig-a-hole-through-the-map-to-find-grenades-and-overshield thing, that's just lame.

While reading this, I have noticed that most people are saying it is cool if pieces fly off but you do not find anything on the other side or something like that. What everyone who says that is talking about is a Destrictible Environment, and that could be done. But I dont want to have to open a wall to get some powerups. Reminds me too much of Zelda.

Personally, I think of it more like...

There's a blue team bastard on the other side of this building... so if I just drive my tank THROUGH the building's wall, drive through the inside and break through the far wall and come out the other side....

Yeah, that'll surprise him.

A few structures/ walls already do this in Halo 2...
