ok mr mission, heres where your wrong.
battlefeild doesnt have aliens, or lasers or plasma stuff. so why even compare a futuristic shooter like halo, to a WWII shooter like battlefeild?
theres just no point

plus, a big map wouldn't be confusing, it would just be like a really large canyon or sumtin.

And a pelican isn't a sucide mission, because they would make it a little more durable than a damn banshee or ghost or warthog. plus, you could move large amounts of guys quicker than 3 in a warthog, or every1 runnin over the massive stretch of level.

plus, there would be more than one pelican, so not just 1 pelican to go get destroyed in.

ps. aphantom would be cool to fight against a pelican, with marines shooting out the back :D

I doubt Halo 3 will support more than 16 players, Halo is all about balance, and with more that 16 players balance no longer exists.

actually 16 vs 16 is rumored

Halo's a hell of a drug.

If you want to play Halo 2 with the Halo 3 title slapped on it, then keep playing Halo 2. I'm sure people thought it would be dumb to have vehicles in a FPS, but Bungie made it work. If they added a boat or Pelican to H3, they would make it work. They always make it work.

Don't limit the game. Let it evolve. Play the older games if you want to stick with that old style.

I think that the Pelican would just rush the game too much in any map smaller than about 20x Containment.

You see, every pilot of the Pelican is going to be so mad that they can't take it everywhere, you're not going to be happy no matter what.

Classic Rush? I want to play a game that lasts more than 5 minutes long.

20x the size of Containment. Maybe two. If there were Pelicans, we would want to play on a battlefield, not a continent. And how would Pelicans rush the game? With a Pelican you can carry up to 6 in the back and 1-2 pilots. Taking time for Pelicans to get loaded with passengers, time for it to take off, time for the travel to the other base, time for the Pelican to lower to the ground, time for the pasengers to get out, time for them to get the flag, time for them to get back on, time for them to get back in the air, time for them to fly back, time for them to lower to the ground once more, and time for them to capture the flag. Repeat twice. It would be rushing the game more than that usin' a friggin' warthog.

How about a small human air-craft? One with different fire power than the Banshee and operates differently. Perhaps an anti-tank unit?

I really see no point in comparing this to BattleField. The thought of new vehicles doesn't mean that they would be the same vehicles as BattleField. You are limiting yourself. New and updated game, means new and updated things, including vehicles.

The whole point of Halo 3 is to not only finish the story, but to show new features. New vehicles, characters, weapons, and more will be in Halo 3.

I'd rather have bungie be focusing there man on better gameplay rather than making things that are'nt needed. We all dont know what they are going to do in Halo 3 yet. I for one would rather have more refined campaign and multiplayer gameplay rather than putting something like a Longsword or a Pelican which is completely not needed. And i did say that varients of old vehicles were ok im my opinion so if you wanted them to innovate something they could innovate the old vehicles my making cool new variants and pefecting them. And im sure if they put new vehicles in Halo 3 you all are going to be the ones complaining that they are too good. And polls are opinion anyway just like this forum getting owned is a stupid saying and if i were getting "owned" then everyone except me would have voted Yes

whatever. who really cares, the bungie team knows what they r doing and in the end everyone is going to love halo 3 even if there are or are not any new vechials although i do think having a longsword is a stupid idea

well im kind of neutral on this, ive played custom edition maps with longswords and pelicans added in and some were pretty good and fun, the pelican was great for stunts and tricks, the longsword, on most maps atleast, wasnt very good though, seeing as how most maps with them they had reloadable nukes and it was really cheap, noobish and annoying

I do agree with the "superflousness" of the Longsword and, well, any type of boat being in the game.

I want a human flying vehicle. Thats it. Not a pelican or a longsword, but maybe the "Doozy" from the LE DVD?

having a pelican would be so dumb. it would completely eliminate the importanse of the standard infantry soldier. it would be pointless to be on foot, which is the basic idea of every fps.

also, have you played matchmaking lately? how often do you ever see people actually work as a team. a pelican would either useles, or whored to the point that nothing else matters.

1. Halo 3 is halo not battlefield or anything like that.
2. There would be no the point of having a Longsword or Pelican in Multiplayer use a banshee or ground vehicle.
3. All ground vehicles are perfect as is putting an ATV or a A phantom would be completely superflous. ( Although variations of the Warthog would be acceptable.)
4. Boats would be another new vehicle being again this is Halo not Battlefield and it would be easy to cheat just by driving a boat to the edge of the map and staying there.
5. Any new vehicle would be completely superflous and just distract the developers from making a better game for all of us that play Halo(s).

And if you dont agree then tell me why there should be. Im pretty sure you can't.

im pretty sure you dont know squat about making a video game or making babies. bungie knows what theyre doing and since we dont know whats different how can we say what should or shouldnt be there...BLAM

I think you guys are acting like you are the game developers, and you know how every vehicle will work. Let the game developers do their thing, there is no reason not to include new vehicles. Without new vehicles the life of the game will be drastically reduced and campaign will not be much different. A pelican can work, i'm sure bungie can make what they put in work. Stop acting like you know everything, its like you are talking like you have the game already in front of you. The only reason why people wouldn't want new vehicles is because they are going to be stuck on halo 2 like people were stuck on halo 1.

My feelings exactly. The game has to change and grow, or it will be stale.

Seriously though, if they don't add any new content besides maps or missions it will just be an expansion to Halo 2 with some gameplay fixes and new graphics. If I see a game called Halo 3 it better damn well be different and better than Halo 2, or else there would be no point to making it. It seems to me that you people are just afraid of change.
