Rediculous amounts of quitting/disconnecting goes on in big team battle, and the other gametypes to a lesser extent. Their logic: If we get scored on in the first 20 seconds of the game, we probably wont come back and will lose anyways, so they quit, and get into the next game sooner.

Which sucks. As soon as they quit they go from an unlikely win to a near impossible win. Great comebacks happen even when down a man sometimes but the rampant quitting has become a serious problem indeed.

Possible Solution for Halo3: Maximum allowable matchmaking quits of 1 per hour, players with high numbers of quits be tagged as frequent quitters and known for the scumbags they are before the game starts, Lastly, have quitting count as losing the game you were playing TWICE or THRICE.

I mean for god sake, its hard to finish a game when your entire team quits every game. And not of all of us have a clan to go in with.

I agree, people should just enjoy the game and play it through, win or lose.

Of course, increasing the quitting penalty for losses doesn't really help, If they're quitting for the purpose of deleveling, then penalizing them twice or three times more than usual would just help them achieve their goal.

Having players tagged as "Quitters" doesn't keep them from quitting. If cheaters were tagged as "Cheaters" before a match started, it still wouldn't keep them from cheating.

True, it would not stop them from quitting, but it would stop me from sending them a friend request because we had a good game, knowing they would quit out at some retarded moment.

Also, as for deleveling: Their going to do it anyways, and they can only quit once an hour, so its really not that abusable for deleveling purposes, they will have to finish 5/6 games in the hour(assuming average game = 10 mins).

Just some thoughts.

I host large LAN parties, and I get people quitting just because they are getting killed or they're losing.

Uh, just play slayer. That's easier anyway. No one can help disconnecting, it's because thereare so many people in that game with different connection statuses. Welcome to lag city.

Really BTB isnt that laggy, its just that the greater # of players sometimes gives you a bigger pool of $#^$tards to play with.

Also, I dont enjoy slayer nearly as much as big objective games, just personal preference, but I think we would all benifit from less quitting.

I just realized bridgers could really abuse this, knocking people out of games and hurting the peoples rank really badly in the process.

So I guess this would only work with standalone servers hosting the game instead of players. Sadly I don't think we will ever see it.

Quit only once an hour? You can't force that upon people. They could just turn off their Xbox or disconnect their network. Some people also quit games due to family reasons or something important that has come up. Jerks will be jerks, and the 360 feedback system should take care of them fairly well. Just leave "Avoid player feedback" for quitting early. If the system works how it claims to, in Halo 3, you shouldn't get matched up with quitters any more than once. (Of course, it's really a hard thing to stop altogether.)

It's a war that is almost impossible to win. As I said, jerks will be jerks.

Well, my internet is made for my laptop and I know a lot of people like that. I have the worst connection known to man and my friend Krypton3 makes fun of me for it.

Well, then your connection prolly keeps you in the lower ranks, so I shouldnt run into you that much 0:)

As for the xbox live and player reputation systems...yeah I hope it works like that. I know Ill be lowering everyone who quits my games.

Hell I prolly use the leave feedback option in live more than anyone I know, but its like throwing a piece of paper at a tidal wave.

It doesn't hurt rank. It just (barely) hurts reputation. I think the 360 reputation system should be a little more.. Fixed. (The 5 stars should represent 100% of the people you've played with.)

Although that's almost besides the point.

Then your net can't be that bad and you've got a good wrecking crew to tear people up.

I was a 33, then all good RL friends stopped playing for WoW and its hard to replace that.

Anyways Im done with this thread, I discussed what I wanted to and now I've a lil bit of hope that halo3 will be better.

Actually, laggier players are sometimes the higher levels.. That lag can really give players a hard to time killing them. Of course, I now have the feeling that you two are just showing off ranks.. :P

I go in myself. Someone vote in my poll in the H3 Forum and read my sig. It's funny.

My net sucks anyway. In fact, I lost a lot of levels because of disconnection and my friends played when they spent the night and I was asleep. They're not even my friends, I hate them. They use me for my money and 360 and PSP.
