I think it would make sense if the Arbiter became the leader of the rebel covie forces, do you?

He was one of the first to rebel, he was a High ranking officer before, As he is the arbiter he holds a certain religous significance. i think he would be respected as a commander and is trusted by sgt johnson and the master chief.

It wouldn't make sense to be led by the UNSC since it is more like an partnership. and you would be reluctent to be led by another counties officers,

This also begs the question does this mean the arbiter, as the leader, cannot be played in SP since he is important and should be organizing the covie rebelion?

i have no evidense to support this, its just speculation.

Perhaps, perhaps not. But I doubt that they would remove the Arbiter as a playable campaign character, seeing as he played a central part to the story of Halo 2, unless they introduced a new playable character whom was in the area where the Arbiter left off, then it's doubtful... Though saying that, I dont think they'll introduce anyone new anyway, so there we have it.

He could turn out to be like Sgt johnson, in the game but can't be killed,

I suppose he could be played as sort of a anglo-saxon leader- in the front lines leading his troops making him playable. at the same time furfilling his role as their leader.

And yet, he is no longer the Arbiter...

I think he will return in a new type of Praetor's Armor due to his disgust at the Prophet of Truth. The armor he currently wears is one example of such servitude that he has ended.

Remember that Elites don't like to have to just sit around on their cushy commander butts. They gain rank depending on how many enemies they have slain, not neccisarily strategy or skill. The (land) commanders would be in the battles too, I think.

What does that have to do with the Arbiter returning in a new type of armor?

Absolutely nothing, I was replying to the original poster in regards of what the Arby might be doing as a leader. Elite leaders kill stuff, usually.
