I would say duel wielding swords would be AMAZING although it would be purly cosmetic because I dont see how you could improve on the sword any more.

Each time someone stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope. That hope is three little numbers: 1 - 1 - 7.

There is hope in us all. We gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which we really stop to look fear in the face. We must do the thing which we think we cannot do; stand with the Master Chief and Finish this Fight!

i agree with you on that. The flood do need to stay.

wait they wanted the flood gone? .. that is the entire point of the game. what effing morons.

Exactly!! what Idiots *shakes his head in disapointment*

Dude, the Flood is not the point of Halo, the point of Halo is the Halo Rings. To be honest, if there was not as many flood encounters in Halo 3 (Unlike Halo 1 and 2), then I think we would catch a glimps at some other plot twist. Ok? The flood was just a twist in Halo's plot and in the books, but is not the point of "Halo" other than another form of an enemy. Sure I understand that the flood are on every Halo and chances are we will encounter them, but honestly, we don't have to fight them all the freekin time! (For Half of the entire campaign in Halo 1 and 2 we faught the flood, but seriously, it's dragging on the floor. We need a new surprise or new enemy race) When I first got Halo 2 and found out how much time we spent fighting them I litteraly said these words "Whatever, giimee a beer." We need a new race that will make us freeze in awe which Halo 1 did with the Flood. But now it's like beeting a dead horse.

Earth to quietman, The flood is all about the Halo Rings you dwarf. The fate of the world depends on wherever or not the Halo Rings are activated , which by the way is the only way to kill the Flood. By killing everything else. The Flood plays a vital part in the fate of the world and so do the Covenant. You want to be in awe? How about a showdown on Earth with Gravemind Vs the Master Chief and the Arbiter!!!

Leave the Flood alone, it should be there and will be there come Halo 3.

Am I the only one talking sense in this thread????

ok the point of halo1 was to stop the covenant from destroying humans. then we ran into the flood and had no idea what was going on except that there were some serious enemies to kill.

halo 2, we found out what the covenant were up to.. trying to find the ark which is on earth and thus the reason they were killing humans. some of the convenant realized that their leaders were blinded by their own fake religion and that people should be killing the flood, not eachother. so now theres some on our side.

and the point of halo 3 is most likely going to be humans and some covanent working together to topple the religion of the covenant and to save the galaxy from the flood. and we will probably meet the forerunners at the very end of the game since it will be the time when the galaxy is free of the flood which is when they are supposedly returning. (they used their technology to move them to a time where there was no flood any more.) so, how can you not expect to battle those damn popcorn michael jackson dudes again?

ARRRRRRGGGGGGGGG, stop this madness, The forerunners are dead, killed by the first activation of the Halo rings, second the Covenant cannot help anybody at this stage cause only the Arbiter and a selected few know the truth about the Halo Rings.

Halo 3 will be a big finish between the Flood, the Humans and the Covanant on Earth. Its the way it is. But the question still reamains, will the Halo Rings still be activated and if not will the Covenant destroy the Earth afterwards?

the covanent will not destroy the earth because it was what they were searching for. the ark! they dont give a damn about humans. probably would of allied with them if we didnt put up such a fight against them

Please stop, they glassed every planet leading up to Earth. And if you read the books you will see that the Covenant want Humans as their subjects even when they first contacted each other.

The Covenant want to go to the great journey which means they somehow misread the ancient scripts left to them by the forerunners when the forefunners meant that the Halo Rings are your salvation should the Flood ever return.

Check your facts dude, if the Covenant cant have the technology none will!

I never finished Halo 1 because I bought Halo 2 first. :P However, I agree that Halo had a better storyline than the second game. The second focused on Gameplay. The third will probably fix both problems with the games and make it the best one of all. (Unless everyone dies in the end and the game makes you want to kill yourself for wasting hours playing it)

Diablo i know how your feeling!!! what is it like these people have never played the games before. I mean come on people saying that you dont need the flood WTF!!! of course you need the flood the whole reason of the rings existence is the defeat the flood! Without the Flood there is no point to the rings! Also people saying that we will defeat the Covenant and then join with the Forruners and defeat the flood, WTF ARE YOU CRAZY the Forruners were destroyed when they first activated the rings!! Whoever said that is a complete Retard and needs to go through the games again and actually pay attention!

if you read the books, it says and i would quote it if i had it on me. it hints the the forerunners moved themselves to a time where the flood no longer existed. most likely using the ark. chances are, we will figure a way and defeat the flood without using the rings. then the time will be upon us where there is no flood. and the forerunners will be back. didnt say we'd hang out with them. itll just be that time.

(sigh) Can't we all just get along?

Look, the Earth isn't the Ark, the Ark is on Earth. That's what the structure was that opened up during the trailer. And by the way, Diablo 177 was right about everything in that post except the part about the Covenant wanting the humans to be their subjects. Just accept it man, you were wrong. And don't bother sending me a message telling me to *%#@! off, it would just prove even more that you were wrong and that you're now just throwing a tantrum because you don't want to admit it...

I agree. The game can still be played without the Flood incorporated in the game-play. If it effects the storyline, they can just have cinematics to tell the story; like another ring blowing up, or marines battling for their lives against the flood. I really get tired of waisting my ammo on these annoying targets.

It's in Official Xbox Magazine's August 2006 issue. I've posted some of there comments in another thread about a week ago, but there is no way I would re-type them.
