Dude, the Flood is not the point of Halo, the point of Halo is the Halo Rings. To be honest, if there was not as many flood encounters in Halo 3 (Unlike Halo 1 and 2), then I think we would catch a glimps at some other plot twist. Ok? The flood was just a twist in Halo's plot and in the books, but is not the point of "Halo" other than another form of an enemy. Sure I understand that the flood are on every Halo and chances are we will encounter them, but honestly, we don't have to fight them all the freekin time! (For Half of the entire campaign in Halo 1 and 2 we faught the flood, but seriously, it's dragging on the floor. We need a new surprise or new enemy race) When I first got Halo 2 and found out how much time we spent fighting them I litteraly said these words "Whatever, giimee a beer." We need a new race that will make us freeze in awe which Halo 1 did with the Flood. But now it's like beeting a dead horse.
I agree. The game can still be played without the Flood incorporated in the game-play. If it effects the storyline, they can just have cinematics to tell the story; like another ring blowing up, or marines battling for their lives against the flood. I really get tired of waisting my ammo on these annoying targets.
