Imagine a level in Halo 3 where Master Chief walks into a room with a huge pit in the middle. He inches along the edge to peek at what is making the disgusting noises and finds...an ocean of Flood infection forms, swimming in a pool of blood/gore and feeding on hundreds of bodies that the combat forms had brought to them. Seeing the immense threat (think somewhere between 2,000-5,000 infection forms), Master Chief slowly tries to back away unnoticed to proceed to his objective, but he's too late, as a carrier form appears in front of him and alerts the sea of infection forms. Angrily disposing of the carrier form, our hero quickly makes distance between him and the pit. After he finally realizes that he is trapped in the room, he returns his attention to the frightening swarm assembling all around him...
BEGIN LEVEL...
SEVERAL MINUTES LATER, AFTER THE LAST INFECTION FORM IS DESTROYED AND AT LEAST HALF OF ALL YOUR AMMO IS DEPLETED...
Nerves shot and heart pounding, Master Chief proceeds to a nearby exit. Just after a few steps, Master Chief hears the sickening sounds of growls and and the sloshing of decaying body parts behind him. Then he remembers: the pool of bodies! While he was wasting his time on the ocean of infection forms, the rest had stayed in the pit to finish what they had started: recruiting more troops. John gasps with fear inside his helmet as he quicklly turns around...and the room disappears as the lights suddenly go off and everything is swallowed in darkness. Master Chief, blind, alone, and probably surrounded without even needing to see in order to know, whispers one word: "-blam!-..."
