Wasn't it funny when you played co-op on Halo: CE and you saw two Master Cheifs come out of the cryo-chamber?..lol..Especially when the MC is the only known surviving Spartan at that time? Then in Halo 2, there still hasn't been any other known surviving Spartans or at least any around to accompany the MC. Yet, we didn't care, it was just fun buddying up with a friend and enjoying some cooperative split-screen action.
Well, what about now. Halo 3, the next generation of gaming. Shouldn't things relate to their source or at least the story-line? Co-op definetly should. Perhaps co-op should be played with separate levels from the main plot line; perhaps we can play as space marines on a mission that is related to or affects the main plot, or how about new Spartans being discovered in the main plot then after you get to a certain level when playing co-op, you get to play as those Spartans. Ofcourse, that co-op level would only be unlocked after you get to that part of the story-line in single-player campaign.
Hey why rule out a 4 player co-op? That would be cool as well, and ofcourse the option to join co-op on XBL as has been mentioned before.
I know not everyone will agree with this, but I really feel that this is the way it should be if we are going to be true to the story-line and next-gen online gaming.
