We all know the disadvantages and advantages that the Elite and Spartan Player Models have over each other. To list a few:

1. The Elite head is located near the center of mass.
2. The Spartan head is vulnerable from 5/6 faces where Elite is only 4/6.
3. Elites have a more spread out body mass (Elite arms are out and loose while a Spartans arm are tucked close to the body, giving the appearance that the Elite is bigger).
4. Elites are safe from rear headshots, Spartans are not.

Those are just a few differences between the models and, assuming that we will see both Spartans and Elites (and maybe more) as options in Halo 3, I figured we could use a thread that could suggest ways to solve the problems and make the models, if not equal, then very similar to each other.

I am going to post my idea(s), criticism is expected.

------------------------------------------------------------------

My suggestion(s):
1. Have the Elite stand in a more upright position, this way the heads of both player models are in somewhat of the same place and this way, the Elite does not have a rear head shot advantage.

(thats all I could think of at the moment)

"I pledge to punch all switches, to never shoot where I could use grenades, to admit the existence of no level except Total Carnage, to never use caps lock as my "run" key, and to never, ever, leave a single BoB alive."

2B || !2B - Why don't you look Inside the Machine?

Actually the larger size of the Elite provides more Surface Area to shoot at...so by pure luck Spartans are harder to kill due to their lack of a massive Surface Area. Also the Elite head is larger/longer...providing the .5 second time frame where a sniper can pick them off easily, not to say that Spartans are harder to snipe. But Elites sure do have a disadvantage there.

I think the entire thing about Elites are harder to kill from the rear is just myth...I have killed Spartans and Elites with rear perspective head shots. It is easy if you know where to aim.

In reality I like both models of players...but I choose Spartan due to the smaller Surface Area. Which provides for better hiding, crouching, and melee.

I myself use the Elite and, if what was stated above is true about the Elites being possibly headshotted from behind, I have never experienced it. I use the hunched head to my own advantage when dodging a sniper and looking for cover.

I like the Elite model in the game because it adds variety (although, I'll admit, you don't see them too much any more). So removing it, IMO, will just make the game boring to me.

Like I said, if you know where to aim...it isn't hard. But usually I will just go for a two body shots if I am in a desperate situation rather than try to be precise, so precise that it is harder to get the headshot rather than the body shots.

Nothing personal...

I'd like to see subtle differences with the two models, especially if the Eilte model is going to have the same disadvantages as it does in Halo 2. Maybe slightly higher jumping? Faster melees with certain weapons? Of course, nothing that would be game breaking.

I'd love to be a 10 year old and tell my mom I'm going on an adventure out into the world catching Pokemon, with her full support. Never mind the fact that there are rapists, criminals, and murders out there, or the fact that I may get killed by a Pokemon.

Luckily I have Pikachu.

There are know diffireneces, it is all in your mind.

Ask Bungie and they will tell you the same thing.

All I know is that when I play snipers I tend to kill more Elites than Spartan's and that I have notice it to be alot harder if not impossible to get rear headshots on an elite.However I think their wide stature is far more of a disadvantage.

Try to play as the MASTER CHIEF and then ARBITER... They have different melee attacks... MASTER CHIEF`s melee is Faster than ARBITER`s melee... Not in multiplayer... Its only in Campaign...Grab the same weapon with both and try...

Yes, maybe they need to be thinned out a bit. I love Elites and I HATE being at such a big disadvantage.
