Subject: NEW SCARAB GAMETYPE (NOT LAME BUT GOOD)

that which is not dead can eternal lie, but with strange aeons even death may die.

I have seen many requests and people wanting more scarab in multiplayer....well I have come up with an acceptable game type, that not G@y, and could be fun.

summary. one team has to defend a scarab (that is moving) to a spot were it destroyes something, (generator, or base), and the other team must board it and plant a bomb.

its a simple game type but I think it could prove very fun.

Facts.

the map would a very long and twisty blood gulch wide canyon, with many over hangs, and ways to get onto the scarab.

To slow the scarab down, there are "cliffs and rock pillars", that can be destroyed by the blue team to slow the scarab, it must stop, blow them up, and then move again.
there could be 2 or 3 of these.

to provide weapons for the red team there will be covie only weapon containers in the scarab, And idk...maybe a human gun or two...(say its a brute scarab)

the red team (colour can be decided by random ness)
will be on the scarab and spawn only there. the scarab is pre-programed to move, so the team on the scarab can not "control" it, but they can aim the 2 gun turrets on it.
seems fair right?

the blue team, will spawn around the cliffs and have worthogs that can keep up to the speed of the scarab (this ones not going to be moving so slow.)
they can drive the the worthogs on top of one of the overhangs and drop off people, and when a blue guy dies, he will spawn relatively close to the scarab,
(because its a large map, this will prevent the red team always winning, because the blues spawn so far away.

COMMENTS PLS.

"You're never gonna fight me, I'll wipe the world away"

How would the defending team win the round?
By blowing up the scarab, or killing all of the red team?

I have to admit this is one of the better ideas I've seen.

  • 07.24.2006 8:24 AM PDT

I like it a lot, thought I doubt it will show up in the final product.

-Its a MG42!
-My favorite color is bubble shield

when i saw all caps, i though it would be, LETS FIGHT WITH ELEVENTEEN SCARABS AND MAKE NUKES AND WHOEVER WINS GETS CHOCOLATE. But...
It turned out good. Just a suggjestion. Put it on earth going tothe whitehouse or something. Have the people on the scarab elites. The people stoping spartans. Add a few allies, and armory for humans and an armory for covies (like you said) and it would be perfect.

OMTFGBBQROFLCOPTER!!!

Wow. Some intelligence on these forums. Very nice idea!

And to the guy above, the blues win by getting 4 people on the ship and killing everyone, and just have 4 people on the ship who can overload the engines (like MC in the 3rd campain level of H2

Not bad. Post in Optimatch, though.

And that would achieve what?

They can't implement this in Halo 2, and thus has been posted in the H3 forum. It is in the correct place.

I actually had this exact same idea not long ago. So, of course, I like it. Some banshees would certainly make it fun.

Yeah, it's a neat idea, but it wouldn't do it. Objective gametypes aren't the focus of Halo. Those are reserved for games like SW: Battlefront and Conker Live & Reloaded.

It'd work for singleplayer, though... then again, that's already happened once, on a smaller scale.

holla holla holla

My group- Masterchiefs crib

I would love to do that scarab game. It sounds fun and they should make a scarab type game like slayer then scarab or something like that.

Wow, this is actually a really good gametype! I would love to play something like this, and it would definitely have a unique feel. I might actually like to play this in some kind of AI mode, with 4 of my teammates defending against about 20-30 bots. That would be awesome.

That would be fun for a few rounds, then it would start to really suck for the defenders. The first problem is that the scarab is always moving. Two problems. The first is that the rocking of the scarab would make it very difficult to aim, especially for snipers. The second is that one is either A.) tied to the scarab or wherever it goes, or B.) one jumps off and is a sitting duck for the other team, who, if they are doing their jobs, are watching the scarab like a group of hawks. Picture playing an Assault game on Coagulation. Now picture that your team can't leave the base, where the other team(the one with the bomb) can do whatever they want. Sound like fun?
