Last week, Frankie spoke with MTV about the dirty business of keeping secrets in his position. Frankie talks about what it's like to be Bungie's first line of defense against the information-starved reporters and fans as well as some close calls.

Frankie is my herow

There's an aspect of the Arbiter's character that is still secret to this day and will remain so for good reason
O'Connor said there was a serious breach in the "Halo 3" veil of secrecy just two weeks ago.

Very intresting, this is almost like a Weekly What's Update

Awesome.
"We had some other things that were secrets within secrets. There's an aspect of the Arbiter's character that is still secret to this day and will remain so for good reason."
...
"The funny thing about this conversation is that if you ran the entire interview verbatim ... it would be transcribed on Halo.Bungie.org and dissected for secrets," he said. "They would go back and look at the Arbiter section of our conversation and say, 'What was he talking about? Wait a minute, I know,' and come up with sometimes cockamamie — and sometimes startlingly accurate theories."

Frankie rules! A teaser within a teaser... you can't beat that. Now I wonder what he was talking about. lol.

The fact that a major secret was blurted out and was smothered by a reporter makes me the geek in me both die a little bit and breath a sigh of relief at the same time.

About the fact that this was an actractive reporter. Does this mean that if I send this employee pictures of perky young women, he'll send me secret info? ;)

I bet we'll hear more of this 'leak' some time in the future, there is nothing binding this reporter unless the member of staff that caved is also very, very attractive and managed to convince this reporter not to tell.

Anyhow the reporter shouldn't be difficult to find, chances are she's not as obdurate as Frankie too, there would have been an official appointment made at bungie and this would in theory make it quite simple to ascertain who interviewed.

Or maybe Frankie made this up, he seems to enjoy wielding the power of censorer.

Like how they can get away with selling coffee for $4.00 a cup just because it has milk in it.

It must suck to be Frankie, because everyone probably asks him everyday about Halo 3.

:(

I give my props too all the Bungie team for keeping quiet.

It's cool and all, I love it when stuff like this is posted, but I was halfway through the article when I thought to myself "why am I reading an MTV article?"

Boo.... I was hoping the Arbiter Died at the end of halo 2. No offense, but my group did not enjoy the Arbiter experience. Especially not having a choice as to play him or not. It is the reason we did not " REPLAY " Halo 2 more than One or Two times. Many of my friends put the game down and never even finished Halo 2 cause they were turned off by seamingly "Sleeping with The Enemy". Like myself, I wanted all covenant and elites DEAD ! It was good for plot I'm sure, but the Chief is the only way to Play Halo ! Any way you guys can keep his parts in "Cutscreens only" this time around? I mean after all , we may as well play Unreal which has a number of different characters .. Oh but wait, that's why we don't play Unreal! Please tell us Th MC will be finishing the Fight and the Arbiters spaceship crashed and he died on his way back to earth so we don't have to play him again. Or maybe The Arbiter can be that NON PLAYABLE Goofy sidekick that just kind of shadows the Chief and makes Stupid jokes... but not playable!!!!! Please have him die. Unfortunately, I had to Play The "End" sequence for most of my friends cause they wanted to see the ending of Halo 2. If I hadn't done this, they would just have not cared. Keep the Arbiter in the Novels and Comic books where he belongs, leave him in the game as an enemy yes, but as a playable Ally ? NO!!! or just leave him in the Novels and comic books where he belongs.

Well there's my 2 cents.. go ahead and flame away kids!

Frank O'Connor is a 12-year veteran of the videogame magazine industry and has therefore never worked an honest day in his life.

why did he have to post that he has the latest build on his xbox 360. i was 2 days away from stealing that. And i wonder what the secret was. I would hate to be that reporter knowing it could boost her career insanely. But i get where he comes from. Is he an a hole with information of course but is he doing his job. yes thats why i like Frankie. he is an honest but funny guy. and he's Scottish.
