Everything that I have read is saying that Bungie is standing firm on the decision that there will be NO HALO 2 for the PC. To me, this is just ludicrous. FPS is much better on the PC and although I would never want to deny the die hard X-Box people their serving of Halo 2, Bungie has to be out of their minds by deciding that Halo 2 will NOT be brought to the PC. I have been anxiously awaiting any news on Halo 2 being released but now that I've discovered that Halo 2 will not be on PC, it looks as though I will never get to play it. I will NOT purchse a console to play games. I am a Co-Founder of a large gaming guild that hosts many games and boasts over 200 members and this is indeed a punch in the gut to hear that bungie is letting down the PC community.

I pray that Bungie reverses their decision and announces some good news in the near future that they are going to work on the PC version of Halo 2.

Respectfully,

I should correct you on one thing. Bungie is owned by Microsoft who do have the power to have Halo 2 release on to the PC or not. So basically we're at the mercy at Microsoft. As for a release of Halo 2 on the PC, Bungie hasn't said anything neither has Microsoft release a press release which is now split evenly between release it to PC or not. As far as I know, Bungie pretty left their PC fans for more cash rather then have a huge PC community like how Value has with Counter Strike and soon the Half Lfie 2 game. As far as I know, Bungie has already let the PC community down and there is probably not going to be a second chance for that. They could have made something big out of Halo on the PC sold Billions of couples, make hundreds and thousands of millions dollars, but looks like they and Microsoft want to settle for only a handful of a million dollars. As far as I know, Halo was already dead in 1999 when Microsoft bought them out. I just here to get information on the Halo CE and see if they will ever fix the single player of the Halo PC game which Microsoft is purposly denying the PC community's right to play the game at a good framerate and above 1024x768 resolution.

but surely microsoft wont be dumb enough to miss out on the ammount of money a PC version would bring. Also i agree with the idea that FPS games are ment for the PC it would not be right for Halo to be Xbox only besides it wouldnt take as long to covert it to Xbox to PC format as it is to develope the whole game for the Xbox an Xbox is essentially a computer at heart!. To make the game single platform only would be a very very big mistake for Microsoft. i wouldnt be willing to buy an xbox for halo2 either because i dont see the need for a console as my computer is just as good if not better as an xbox with the advantage of being able to access then Internet and allowing me to use it for any schoolwork or other stuff that an xbox does not have, also a computer is upgradeable unlike an Xbox. Many games on the Xbox are available on the PC and many PC games are available on the Xbox why cant Halo2 be one of these games which is Xbox and PC?

A common misconception amongst gamers is that computer games make as much or more money than console games. The hard truth, as reported by NPDTechworld, is that PC games make up for less than half of the income gained in the electronic entertainment market. That means most of the money in gaming goes to the console developers.

And Bungie is now a console developer. They left PC development behind when they joined Microsoft Game Studios.

So, if I were you, I wouldn't hold my breath for a PC version.

There is Blizzard who haven't died yet but still living because of Warcraft, Starcraft, and Diablo, all on PC. There is IDSoftware who made Doom, Quake, Woftenstein, they're still living. And Value who released Half Life and now Half Life 2 and they're still here. LucasArt is still around. Sony also has the Everquest with the monthly fees and it may look small to you for a month, but it adds up real big along with Star Wars Galaxies. As far as I know, PCgames are still kicking and moving forward. But just as I said before, Halo 2 could be the next Counterstrike if Microsoft is willing to put it on PC and put an editor kit with it. But as far as it goes, I'm not going to buy an Xbox neither a 50 dollar to play online.

I think that HALO 2 should go out for the pc because if it hits REALLY GOOD for the xbox (which it will) it will be better for the computer. Also the muiltplayer will be really good and lots of people will be on playing there. I hope it will come out for PC becuase it is really good punch to the computer world and will be one of the top games for a LONG time.

thats another reason why i dont have a console the prices of the games are WAY too high compared to a PC game, also i find their graphics for alot of them didnt appeal as much as a PC version. id have to pay £129 for the xbox then another £40 for halo2 when it comes out whereas it'll probably cost £10 less for it on the PC without having to buy the console. Also doing it on the PC would probably give bungie more freedom to add in extra bits that wouldnt work with a console because the keyboard and mouse can do a heck of alot more than the gamepad

It would be awesome for Halo 2 to come out on PC but it takes more to port a game than it might look. Of course we all know that microsoft would be smart to put it on PC but I think maybe they are planning to use Halo 2's goodness to get people turned on to XBOX live and just XBOX. I mean Halo 2 is the number one game for XBOX right? So they're going to use that leverage to get people to buy XBOX's. And if they need to tell you that there will NEVER be a PC version to get all the people possible to buy an XBOX, they're going to do it. The people who choose not to buy an XBOX for Halo2 are going to be the minority and they know it. I know I'm planning to buy an XBOX because HALO 2 looks incredible and I think Halo is the funnest FPS multiplayer I've played and they made it BETTER!! We can hope they will put it on PC but who knows. (Maybe in 3 years and rushed like they did Halo 1) I know I'm not gonna deprive myself of a very fun game just cus I'm mad at the fact that they don't know what they're throwing away. It will be hard to get used to those controllers but DANG!! DID YOU SEE THOSE E3 2004 VIDEOS!!! It's just too much to pass up. so yeah. That's my 2 cents on the whole Halo 2 PC issue (of which posts I thought were banned from the forum! lol )

Have you guys ever noticed how long it took Halo PC to come out?? Halo for Xbox was released in 1999 (correct me if im wrong) and it took four years for Halo PC to come out. Think about it people, were there not the exact same discussions about whether Halo would come out on PC or not. And second, comps are expensive and to run Halo PC, you need a snookum comp. Hell, i got a PIV 2.5ghz with 512pc3200 and a radeon 9200se 128 ( i know my card sucks but yah know) and it runs about the same as Halo xbox with out as good of details. Most people use thier parents computer if they are under 17, so you got to look at the situation. Consoles are more affordable than PC's from that point of view.

I need to correct you sir on this. There WAS no Halo PC, it was not developed until March 2003 when Microsoft offered the job to Gearbox Software to port the game from the Xbox to the PC. What you saw in 1999 and before that was Halo was supposed to be a RTS. So in truth, there was no Halo PC ever after 1999 to 2003. The four years you're talking about was Microsoft decision to put the game on PC or not, and after seeing a slight decline in the Xbox sales which in summer 2003 wasn't a good year for them, Halo PC was born to help Microsoft make some money off the game.

Again, I need to correct you on this and the misconception Halo doesn't run good, PC doesn't run good. First off, Halo isn't a good port on the PC, it doesn't run well because either it was rushed, or not coded correctly. If you look at other games like Deus Ex 2, Far Cry, and Unreal Tournament 2004, they use a more advance, more eye candy, and more codes then Halo itself. And yet, they run correctly, stable, and somewhat very faster then Halo PC. Something is wrong isn't it? I think so its either left to Halo PC being ported incorrectly, or Microsoft is purposely sabotaging their game on the PC.

Most people use thier parents computer if they are under 17, so you got to look at the situation. Consoles are more affordable than PC's from that point of view

No doubt very true, but then what is a 17 year old kid playing a Rated Mature game which is for 18 and up.....As the specs of PC, no PCgamer buys Dell or factory made computers, we all bought parts and put it together which is more cheaper and saves more then half the money you buy for Dell. So PCgamers have to be smart in selecting their hardware, of course thats the fun of it. You have to treat them like a bodyshop worker.

As for the rest, if Halo 2 doesn't come to PC, no biggie. I'm not going to go out and buy it on Xbox either because if i do, then I have to go to the doctors and she will reconstructure my whole hand bone because of the controller. Yes I have hand cramps when using any controller. Thats why I wish Microsoft should have release a keyboard and mouse for the Xbox, but they don't want to support the minor groups. cheers.

So, you would have everyone run out and buy a x-box, plus $50 for halo 2 + $50 for dsl + $50 for x-box live. $100 dollars a month is a little too steep for most gamers. -blam!-cube or Crapstation will never see a halo version for sure. But there is a understanding that x-box and the pc are brother and sister. You will always get better preformance from a pc. I'll go along with the moderator in believing better sales from the consoles, but it is known that making games is easier for the pc format followed by x-box. I like microsoft, even though they tend to act like "my way or the highway". They already got busted for pushing around 3rd party vendors that supported their cause. Microsoft wants x-box live to be a powerhouse, and a cash money maker, not mention exclusive. I doubt there will ever be a pc version. But you never know, look at halo. I still think they released halo on pc to tune up the quarks live might would have had with halo 2 version. It is shame pc wouldn't get it's share of this game.
i have 2 gig rdram /256 megs video ram/ pentium 4 3.1 gigahertz and i can't go back to playing halo on a 64 bit, 128 ddr ram console equvalent to a pentium 3 processor.
best regards, Shrapnel187

I think some third company in Tawian was making a VGA connector that can display in HD resolution on the PC and a keyboard along with a program that lets you use it with Halo, but they got killed Microsoft, or so I heard.

Listen people, one of the main reasons there was a Halo PC was because Halo on the Xbox had no online capabilities. Of course, the money helped too of course but it wasnt the main reason because it came out MUCH later than Halo. It takes a lot of work to port a game from the console to the PC so i doubt Halo 2 will make it to the PC. Just go out buy an Xbox, dont whine about money (get a job), and enjoy halo 2 on Xbox live.

Nobody is stupid enough to go out and buy a console for one game, play it till your heart content, then let it collect on the shelf.

i need to play halo 2 now. THERE IS ONLY ONE THING THAT IS STOPING ME FROM DOING IT. BUNGIE OR MICROSOFT (I DONT GIVE A -blam!- WHO IS THE BOSS) DOESN´T WANT TO DO A HALO 2 PC VERSION. THEY FORGOT OF ALL THE ANXIOUS GAMERS WHO HAVE A PC AND PLAYED ONE OF THE BEST GAMES KNOWN AS HALO ON IT? REMEMBER: GOD WILL GIVE US JUSTICE!!! MICROSOFT MUST DO A HALO 2 PC VERSION
