Halo wont run and sends message - a problem occured initialising direct 3d
hardware acceleration may be disabled run DXDIAG.
i have run dxdiag and it says everything is fine
my pc spec is: p4 2.8GHz
448 MB ram
Graphics card: Radeon 9600 series
Manufacturer: ati
Chip type: radeon 9600 xt agp
DAC type: Internal dac (400mhz0
Approx mem: 256 MB
Display mode: 1024 x 768 (32bit) (60 Hz)
Moniter: plug and play
Direct 3D acc enabled
i have dwonloaded the latest drivers for the graphics card earlier today so they are the latest and i ahve directx 9.0
please could u give me some suggestions/help

I would guess that your drivers weren't installed in the right order. If you upgraded your gfx card, it's likely your old drivers are still being used. Re-installing your new drivers won't help that unfrotunately. Try removing your display drivers using Device Manager (post again if you need help on doing that) Then re-installing your card drivers.

I had a similar problem trying to run call of duty (onboard card couldnt utalise directX 9.0)before i bought new graphix card but that now wrks- so i think it is using the new drivers but i will try that- how though- please help?

on the ati website- i installed the 1st driver pakage i think? for fast internet connection(basic- toolbar , drivers ,etc)
why? should i have dwnlded the second package that has more stuff

I've lost count of the amount of times I've answered this exact same problem. Try reading through the forums for people with the same problem BEFORE making a new thread, eh? There must be at least three other threads beginning with "help me" or "problem" which you'll find the answer in.
