Freedom isn't free. Nor does it come with ease. So is it really worth fighting for? Is it worth dying for?

What's your strategy is the question. It can be anything (Halo related of course). Whether it is for single player or multiplayer, free for all or teams. Even if you have a strategy about fighting different types of covenant. For example, I like to use a plamsa pistol and rifle when it comes to elites. Also if you have differents strategies for different maps.

SO WHAT IS YOUR STRATERGY?

My strategy is...

Nothing, because I've never been to a LAN party, or never got into any real serious games with anyone, and so I've never gotten into the whole "LAN Experience"

I just play campaign when I get the chance

Me: "OMFG, Dude... wtf!"
AbolitionofMan: "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to betray you."
Me: "That's the 4th time in this game alone!"
Chris: "Third, besides he had the flag I was trying to stop him, how was I supposed to know you were there."
Me: "I said, 'I got the Flag, don't shoot.'"
Chris: "Well those Wraith shots take a while to reach you."
Me: "You were right next to me, I had killed him and a minute passed before you decided to shoot."
Chris: "Hahahahaha, yeah... that was great."

*Mouth agasp in shock* "Maka.....dude... you are missing the most important thing about Halo... the social experience of competing with another team, (against your own), in Halo. It is SO MUCH fun... the first chance you get... go to one where guys just don't screw out and play... but play for real... wether for bragging rights or for money.... it is awesome..

O yea, no doubt, and I believe everything about it

It's just I don't know a lot of people local, and yea that's really the main reason

yeah, we struggle to get 8 guys together, but when we do......

Woohyeah, i dont really have a strategy myself, i just sorta (even though the best at the parties) follow around other people, who have strategies planned, i never really do any of the thinking, because at the parties, we dont play for real, or bragging riights even though when one of my friends win one, he like stops playing...(if were playing all on all) but we just have a load of fun tryinna win, not seriously so you can sit back and chat while playing the game, you dont have to be all concentratey or anything...

No, not a small town by any means

I live in Puyallup, WA, just a few hours south of Bungie HQ

I just don't put forth effort to looking for LAN's; I got no beef though, I'll just tear -blam!- up once Halo 2 is out, over XBL

Example: Last night, played all night long against this team who has been saying they can't be beat. (In the end we were tied in games won so.... till next time)... we were so concentrated...and so into the game... not only were we yelling... swearing.... etc. The Cops show up at the apartment..(something that happens often cause people think we are killing something).... the Cops actually CAME IN and flashed a flash light in the room to see wtf was going on. Now... me and my team were in the other room... we saw the light...or ONE of my TM's did... I never even noticed the light or the cop even though he was in my perihpical vision. He watched us play for like... a few minutes...heard us swear and yell... said.. "F*** this." and left. We later found out after they came....only two guys from the other team knew the cops were there.....everyone else either just never cared to look or yelled for someone to "Turn that damn light off." That's how serious we get.... Halo is not just a game.... it is a way of life...

My strategy is for online on my computer. Use the pistol and shotgun, and win.

I have regular 4 versus 4 lan games, every saturday on halo of course, it really is good, the lan games are the reason im still playing halo now over 2 years after its release, also im still not bored of the single play.

My strategy for any map, is have at least one defender at all times and the rest attack the enemy base. This is my generic strategy for all maps, obivously with different maps i have a different approach

Freedom isn't free. Nor does it come with ease. So is it really worth fighting for? Is it worth dying for?

Another strategy I like to use is when playing open campaign missions or maps, I like to use a sniper rifle and pick off the elites, then move in quickly and take out the rest with a pistol.

I'm sort of writing a strategy guide for myself, I could probably post it but remember it is my opinion.

Something I always used to do was ask people their sensitivity and favorite weapons, but really it's all your opinion on how you want to play the game. My sensitivity is 6 I would like to get it up higher but I don't think it ever will because I love the sniper, but also the shotgun, 6 is a good medium.

Some general tips, um... Don't rush into anything, especially if your going for the flag or taking on several enemies at once, use stealth, especially with active camo!

Work as a team not as a group of people doing their own thing, if you talk with your team and work together you should have a better chance of winning.

My mate's strategy is run for the flag. And it works. Sometimes.

For Legendary I insult the Covenant by killing them with human weapons. Makes me feel good knowing that their deaths will not go on in a battle hymn. For LANs.....I have too many strategies.

In campaign, I love sticking plasma grenades to elites when they don't quite see you yet. I also like shooting jackals in the head with a pistol when they point at you as they first see you.

I use the plasma pistol to knock out a gold elite's shields, then follow it up with a few shots while moving backwards, stunning them slightly so that either they miss with their sword or you hit them first with your fist. There is nothing more exciting then punching a gold sword elite in the face on legendary... (at least in campaign.)

If two guys on the same team have pistols, stand a distance apart from each other, and stand at 6 o clock and either 3 or 9 o clock, anyone in the face of that clock is dead.

Indeed, if you are asgood as you claim, you are one of the best people at halo that I know of. If you can't share your strategies with others then you wont be playing against the VERY best. Ask yourself this would you rather face a mediocre team, or the best of the best? I can understand about you want to keep some strategies secret, but give me a break, telling people your secret strategies is not going to hurt anyone, only make people better, you do like a challenge? Don't you?

Okay then here is what we do.

Everything that is honest. We do not camp, use glitches, exploit maps(meaning get out of them and such), spawn snipe, and we do anything that will achieve victory. That is what the SSDF does. Like I said in many other threads, " If I tell specifics or hint too much at them, I lose my spot as team Captain (even though I like lieutenant better) " Eventually once Halo 2 is released I can tell more o them to you guys....or maybe during mid summer if you are lucky.

Basically we name everything after something from Halo. Both the books and the game itself. So take a name of a character or a unit and take what they do and that is it.....for the majority of it.

Makavaeli, you shouldnt be having any problems with lanning. I live in Auburn and me and my friend got together a 48 person overnight tourney. Thats when you experience halo at its best.
