Ok...Look at it this way. (not to bash anyones thought) Snakie, even if it took that 10-30 mins if something were to happen that he really needed to know, it'd be way to late by the time MC found out. I think though that is very possible GM showed cortana memories and also that cortana can show them to MC since he's nuerally linked to her. For what Enjoiacynic said earlier about GM surviving from H1 I'd have to disagree. I mean if he was listening through time then he couldn't have been on that ring. Plus when it blew up how could he have gotten to the next one? I'd like to know how he managed that one. I think that Snakie might be on to something here.

The MC doesn't have a neural lace. Only people with the status of at least captain have them. The MC does, however, have a memory bank in his suit where he can put cortana.

Maybe earth is just out side the blast radius and the forerunners found refuge on this rock and populated and maybe humans are the spawn of the forerunners

Is the ark to preserve life(noahs ark) or is it to activate a ring or something?

  • 07.25.2006 3:58 PM PDT

Maybe this has been answered, but I have always wondered how exactly the rings would destroy all sentient life in the galaxy besides the flood. Massive cosmic rays with gamma radiation maybe? With the flood being sentient as well, what keeps them from being killed? Why would the forerunners want to kill the flood's food anyway, and not the flood itself? With all the high technology that went into making the rings and all the forerunner installations, why not just kill the flood?

JMH: See Halo: Fall of Reach. It clearly states that the crystiline memory bank was graphted to his NEURAL LACE, which was updated.

You know, I just thought of something... A way to destroy every Covenant at the press of a button. The Conversations from the Universe booklet, it has the dialogue of two Elites conversing about the humans. One worry that whether the humans have more power than they thought and would lead them to a trap. A trap?(or maybe a hidden superweapon on Earth?) That's it.

The plan is, is under the condition that each Halo has a limited radius only. First, find the Halo of which its blast radius covers Earth. Then disable or destroy it, if it hasn't been done so already with the destruction of 04 and securing 05. Then, find another Halo and send a detachment down to its control center to wait for the signal. After that, find some way(I don't know, capture Truth or something..)to lure the Covenant fleet to Halo. Upon which Halo will be ready to fire instantly. That would obliterate them with the simple press of a button, provided all the technical details work out the way its supposed to.

I congratulate myself on my tactical brilliance.

Now, the only thing to worry about is the Flood.

Wow Seven7h. Thats actually a pretty good idea. It took me a few times to read it and think about it, but if u could get them there it would have a chance. I think though, that the halo closest to Earth is the one that you jump to right after the Mombasa fight (slipspace jump w/ cruiser). If that were the case then chances are it won't be destoryed and I don't think you can disable them.

I do think though, that whatever that thing in the trailer is that blasts open, isn't very friendly to those around it. I mean those ships that fly near it when its about to open double back. Plus it sent a shockwave so...

In the Halo books, it talks about a super nuke that is many nukes fused together... It was described as a planet splitter. I wonder if this is gonna come into play...

Well, I believe that humans are the descendants of the forerunners. We survived the only ever activation of the rings because of earth, the ark. It protected us, thus in turn...if the ark can set off all the rings...won't everyone on earth be safe? That said, in the trailer. All the cov ships are fleeing? If they leave earth's atmosphere there's a chance that they will be destroyed. Leaving earth and it's inhabitants to enjoy the free world...MC and all!

(Talking marbles...maybe?)

Actually there Ruben that makes a lot of sense. Since it doesn't seem that theres a better reason for so many capital ships to be so close together and at such a low altitude. As for the whole nuking thing, I don't know I mean because it all points to the idea that this has happened before, and if it has and there's that kind of explosion, then it could've only happened on Earth once. (if that makes sense)

The ark is what I think remotely controlls all the other rings. As said in the ending of halo2.
After killing the brute chieftain or whatever his name is.
