I've posted something like this before, but nobody replied...
In the announcement FAQ a question asks:
Q Is this the last ever Halo game?
A It is the conclusion to this story arc.

Now when I read over that, first thought "Dammit masterchief is gonezorz". But now after I have read it over and over. I have decided that maybe its not the end of MC, but just Halo? To further prove my point:
The purpose of a story arc is to move a character or a situation from one state to another — in other words, to effect a change.

Thoughts?

I'm sure we'll being seeing the Chief sometime soon after the end of the trilogy. Maybe he'll be a guest star on some show or on another video game :P.

I think the perfect ending would be if MC runs of with the arbiter and they hae a sweet love child and then they could make a game about the love child. All about the trauma of growing up with abusive parents such as MC and arbiter

You need help. Lots of it. Like not even I can help you.

Worst ending: MC blacks out, then you hear; "Sorry for the quick thaw, Master Chief. Things are a bit hectic right now."

No. Just let him walk away.

Too many main characters die at the end (or beginning) of a chapter of a trilogy just for dramatic effect. The Master Chief has a bigger purpose than that (unless he somehow transcends and destroys death, which would be a good idea, too).

Let him live and deal with other threats, or give him his ultimate test... living a normal life and putting down his Battle Rifle and grenades.

Maria-062 apparently was retired in the HGN but she talked about coming back.

Why not have the Master Chief still out there at the end of Halo 3, ready to return if humanity needs him?

Let him get a girl at the end of Halo 3 and then continue on the Spartan legacy.
