Maw

You don't; you get a map folder. If you absolutly don't have a C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo Custom Edition folder, make one. That should work.

That's called a double post. That's bad. I'm sorry, am I getting zealous in my overage? You think they'd make me a moderator already. But I suppose you don't care, as it puts your thread back up top again. I suppose I shouldn't really post this then. But it's easier to hit submit than cancel, for some reason.

You know, Halo CE doesn't come bundled along with Halo. You have to download it seperatley. Also, are you quite sure you remember where you installed Halo?

Edit: OMG! I used the wrong form of then! I shall burn in English hell for Eternity.

Did you actually download Halo Custom Edition?

Halo PC. a $19.99 game at Walmart. In it includes everything from xbox, as well as some different maps. That is all. The maps that come in the package are what you can play on pc. But CE is an entirely different thing. The only thing it needs from pc is the cd key which is why you need halo pc.

Yes, you actually download CE. Just google halo custom edition and ta da. And from there, you download maps into the Halo CE maps folder. In there you extract them. And then in CE, (which is a multiplayer application only, no campaign) there is your new map. If you go online and can't get into a game, then it is most likely that you don't have the map. Just see what map is playing, go to a site like halomaps.org, search for the map, and download. Extract, done.

Yes, I am a hypocrite, and I'm sorry. I really do mean well, but I'm not running on all cylinders.

Everytime someone buys a copy of Halo 2 Vista, a puppy dies.

My God... Thanks Windows for making typical computer users totally unable to do much more than press the ON switch and point and click blithely at stuff....

What? Play a game? FOR FUN???
This concept of fun confuses and infuriates me!

What baffles me is how Halo CE didnt come with a maps folder for you.
Tell me, do you get an error message when starting up CE?

I didn;t find any problems when i installed CE. It's pretty simple and there are plenty of sites where you can get support.

The Halo Maps Website http://www.halomaps.org
The Halo Movies Website http://www.halomovies.org
The Halo CE Chronicles http://hcec.halomaps.org

Halo CE WiLL NOT start unless it has a \maps folder. There are key files in the \maps folder required by Halo CE to operate. SO if you can get to the main menu when you start Halo CE then you HAVE a maps folder. If the Halo CE game will not start then re-install the game.

In a standard installation the maps folder is located here:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo Custom Edition\maps
