Xbox 1 can't handle an immense amount of interactivity.

Not necessarily. It could've handled more than was in Halo 2, but I think it was Bungie's decision to just keep the maps much more simple. If you make too much interactivity, it just becomes Red Faction and things start becoming "Oh crap, there's goes the left side of our base." I'm sure you wouldn't want too much interactivity, but a lot is great. :) As for gates etc., they're much fun. I hope a map in Halo 3 has a bridge that can be lowered or raised at any point. That would be quite fun.

Things like that would be cool. Also things that can't be undone would also be nice. They'd alter the map for the rest of the game.

Sure, but having too many destructable things would make it a little bit too hard to find cover etc. There should be definate limits.

Things like thick walls and major structures probably shouldn't be destructable. Certain metal structures too.

Interactivity doesn't necessarily mean how destructive the environment is. It could be things like switches to open gates, etc.

Anyone else have any ideas?

What about some thing like a pre-determined time limit that whenever it goes off something happens.

I had a good idea that played off of the weather thing. If there was a thunderstorm or such, it would be cool to have lightning/thunder hit the structure or something, on any map really.

Like if they remaid Zanzibar, and there was the option of having thunderstorms, at any point in time lightning would hit the wheel. And whoever was touching the wheel would be blown off, not killed though.

Well, i think that you are completely right. A good way to make many of these maps interactive is to have the bridges retractable, or doors open/closable. Even have a large gate that leads to the underside of the building or something. Maybe the roof can open up to allow direct pelican access. or you could have a giant UNSC cruiser laying on the ground, and be able to trigger the engines to fire a large blast or something.

Map interactivity could very much give Halo 3 something new that would be treasured, unless it proves to be a problem.

I don't see how it could serve as a problem. Obviously too much of a good thing isn't so great, but in Halo 2 the maps had little to none in terms of interactivity. Some of these ideas are great and very possible, they should be in the next game.

Uhh..

a good thought for this map interactivity is too include hackable doors so to speak, like if there is a game mode called infection(which would fit perfectly with the flood being infectious) like in PDZ and TS:Future Perfect u would run into some room and electronically lock the door so u have a head start out a back door or something while the infected hack open the door

I think that kinda deters from the gameplay though. Having to hack a door would seriously slow you down, and it would get annoying if the person just kept hacking it shut again.

I am sick of everyone wanting to have weather. Such as rain that makes it hard to see, or fog that limits your vision. Aren't those the reasons everyone has come to hate Backwash, and why it is no longer in Matchmaking? I personally don't mind backwash but half of the people that want weather also complain about backwash. Make up your minds people

Something they could have done was to allow us to toggle the weather on or off. That way, if you don't like the fog, you could turn it off. If you like it, leave it on. Same thing could go for snow, rain, clouds, sun, etc. Taking a step further, they should also allow us to control how much weather we want. If we want massive blizzards, or maybe just light snow to set the mood.
