My theory is, the Elites will continue fighting the humans, as they think it is the will of the Prophets, at least until the Arbiter comes forward and tries to explain everything.
Seeing as how he was mocked during his trial, I doubt he'll be able to persuade the elites to the truth. I think that instead he will have to go back to the Heretics, and assume position as their leader since he killed their leader. I have a good suspicion that he will return to the Heretics. Why else would Bungie implement that moment into Halo 2?
lol, that's why i said "tries to explain." But I think the Spec Ops Leader trusts the Arbiter, so he may have a hand in restoring the Arbiter's command. Yes he could also seek out the help of the Heretics.
Well with the Spec Ops leader helping the Arbiter kill the Brutes, and not helping his fellow elites invade Earth, I think it's safe to say that he probably has lost A LOT of his original influence. I still think the Heretics is the safest place to turn for the Arbiter to amass an army.
I wouldn't say that. Sure he's not invading Earth, but he's taking revenge for the murders of the Elite counselors, the highest ranking members of their species. Remember, honor is a big part of Elite society. He's also reclaiming a Covenant cruiser as of the end of Halo 2, (to take to Earth maybe?) Plus I think the vast majority of Elite warriors have been replaced by Brutes. But these are all just assumptions. We really don't know anything as far as the plot and politics of Halo 3 are concerned.
Do the regular elites know about the murders of the Elite counselors? Maybe they were told a false story, similar to the story of the Great Journey.
