Despite the fact that the Arbiter had teamed up with the sargent on the secound halo does not mean that the elites on earth are aware of this allyship. Also even though it is very unlikely there could be a chance that the elites on earth are noy even aware of the current covenent civil war.Actually it might be a sneaky plan for Truth to not let the elites on earth that there is a civil war. That way they can still put up more of a fight against the MC.Ofcource then again I guess the elites will know of the war one way or another.

Of course they would still fight, whether they knew of the arbiters actions or not does not change the fact that they want us dead.

Some elites knew of Truth's betrayal to them in Halo 2, that's why they came to help the Arbiter in one of the final levels. But that doesn't mean that they will stop fighting the humans.

Perhaps I am mistaken but you had the chance to kill two humans as Arbiter but they were as allies and the other Elites with you (if they survived) did not attack them either.

Yaa but the elites on the secount halo helped Miranda and Johnson take the Index from the brutes now that they know of Truth's deception the elites should be determined to get more allys and to earth to fight the brutes and kill Truth.

The future is uncertain for the Elites. Apparently the Spec Ops Leader still thinks the Prophets are telling the truth, otherwise he wouldn't have said, "The Prophets were fools to trust [the Brutes]." He thinks the Brutes betrayed all the Covenant, not just the Elites. But the Arbiter knows that the Prophets ordered the Brutes to take the Index and kill him, because Tartarus told him. (Yes he could have been lying but that seems extremely unlikely as Tartarus recieves no reprimand from the Prophet of Truth for his attempted murder.) In the game the Arbiter never explains this to anyone, so the truth has yet to be revealed.

My theory is, the Elites will continue fighting the humans, as they think it is the will of the Prophets, at least until the Arbiter comes forward and tries to explain everything.

And that part about the Elites not attacking the humans held captive by the Brutes on the final mission is confusing. I don't see any reason for the Elites or anyone else not to attack them, other than the fact that they are indeed also against the Brutes. (The enemy of my enemy... blah blah blah)

All the elites know about the civil war with the brutes being that the brutes attacked elites everywhere including on starships, the elites are not about to become allys with the brutes again. Also when the prophet of truth left for earth the brute and elite ships were engaged in battle why would the elites want to help the prophet when they were just in battle with the prophets forces? What i think will happen is that all the elites will turn to the arbiter for leadership and will follow his command.

Seeing as how he was mocked during his trial, I doubt he'll be able to persuade the elites to the truth. I think that instead he will have to go back to the Heretics, and assume position as their leader since he killed their leader. I have a good suspicion that he will return to the Heretics. Why else would Bungie implement that moment into Halo 2?

What I'm saying is the Elites don't know the Prophet of Truth ordered the Brutes to kill the counselors. Only the Arbiter knows that. They might think the Brutes kidnapped the Prophet of Truth and stole the Forunner ship on High Charity.

lol, that's why i said "tries to explain." But I think the Spec Ops Leader trusts the Arbiter, so he may have a hand in restoring the Arbiter's command. Yes he could also seek out the help of the Heretics.

Well with the Spec Ops leader helping the Arbiter kill the Brutes, and not helping his fellow elites invade Earth, I think it's safe to say that he probably has lost A LOT of his original influence. I still think the Heretics is the safest place to turn for the Arbiter to amass an army.

I wouldn't say that. Sure he's not invading Earth, but he's taking revenge for the murders of the Elite counselors, the highest ranking members of their species. Remember, honor is a big part of Elite society. He's also reclaiming a Covenant cruiser as of the end of Halo 2, (to take to Earth maybe?) Plus I think the vast majority of Elite warriors have been replaced by Brutes. But these are all just assumptions. We really don't know anything as far as the plot and politics of Halo 3 are concerned.

I think they will, but on the last level or so they will team up to kill truth and the brutes. Just a guess.

Do the regular elites know about the murders of the Elite counselors? Maybe they were told a false story, similar to the story of the Great Journey.
