Now I know this is not directly Bungie or Halo related but it is not completely off topic either...

I'm pretty sure you are all aware off the very strange noises an Xbox emits when left on the green setup screen.

- "Roger 942 over - beep beep - nhmenm " etc etc

Some of us have encountered it in very different circumstances... I myself had just broken up with my girl-friend and was sitting in my living room. I had just watched a film and was about to play a game (having taken the DVD out but not replaced the game in yet, I was on the setup screen). I stopped to finish skinning up as I wanted to watch the introduction video whilst smoking and as I'd left the volume quite loud I got quite scared when I suddently heard the noise...
I honestly thought cops where outside my window or frongt door... I muted the volume and listened for a little while (slowly reaching for my katana); after 5min, I pushed a game in and forgot about it until a few months later. My mate phoned me up one following night to tell me his Xbox was picking up random radio signals. After a lot of giggling and making him swear he wasn't taking the piss, I turned up at his house (also to teach him a little more DOA3) to listen to the interferences. By the time I got there, he has noticed that they were very repetitive and upon hearing them, I realised that subconsciously I had heard these things before...

Of course, now we've identified it has what it is but really, seriously, what the hell is it?

What goes through one's mind to put something like that in such a console...
Why?
Porqué?
Pourquoi?

Bungie, Halo 2 lovers, anyone?...

Is there anyway you can turn the volume way up and get a recording?
